Just awesome!

 

So, last evening I was in the kitchen drinking this and working on some homemade mac and cheese.

I thought the Rebel was pretty good, so I grabbed a single of this and the Rouser. I only had a few drinks of it though because as I was getting ready to share my thoughts on the beer with all of you, I was halted by the crying of my middle son outside. I looked out the front door to find him standing on the porch with his hand over his face and bleeding everywhere. EV-ER-Y-WHERE. Anyone who has had a mouth/face injury can envision this. Anyway, one of his buddies (our neighbor) was trying to explain how his dog had bit him. After getting him calmed down, the bleeding stopped, somewhat cleaned up, and some Ibuprofen in him, I took some pictures and did some assesments while waiting on the wife. I will share one of the more appropriate ones. Scroll quickly if squmish.
























After a couple of hours, 2 syringes of Lydocaine, and 13 stitches at Children's Hospital (always good people) in Columbus, they got him all back together. Sorry if I came in as Debbie Downer on a Friday morning, or if I offended anyone, but I consider many of you in here to be friends and I also thought it would serve as a reminder to us all to not take our time with our children/family for granted. This was obviously just a reactionary thing, not really an "attack". It could have been much worse. In fact, a woman I went to high school with was killed by her owns dog not long ago here in our county. Anyway, he was a trooper through it all. Glad he is only going to miss a couple weeks of soccer and baseball practice in the end. Here is what I am drinking now.

6 packs are lovely. By the way, didn't care much for the Rider. Hope the Rouser is better.

 

Wonder if there is a glass release with this one? They have had a glass for each one previously

Only have a couple of these fine Anchor Bocks left (no longer brewed in 2015); seems like I should continue to "bock out" as I still have a goat load of bocks left from last Saturday....feels like a "bock day" in NE Ohio....gray, windy and cold!

Good morning BAs! Another thrilling day here in the wilds of NW PA - got a dusting of snow last night that's sticking in the higher elevations, ie anything above ground level - roofs, cars, dumpsters, etc. Today I'm guzzling a bomber of Wookey Jack - first time for this - both cheap and good!



And what else is today? It's \m/ \m/ friday!

 

Wow! Sorry to hear about your son - that looks worse than it really is, but for a kid and a dog it can be a major trauma. My son has a pit bull - sweet dog, but sometimes, when she looks looks at you, you just know she's thinking "carotid, lingual, facial arteries - bite here and here and here..."

 

I hope your son is recovering quickly. I worry about my dog doing something like that. This dumb pup, rarely bites ( play bites when he does ) but accidently ( I think ) stabs people with his teeth, since he wants to jump on everyone. Trying to correct this and hope he grows out of this.

damn. i've had my share of "what now" interruptions & "what a way to start off the weekend" but never a true emergency on this scale, knock on wood. hope the day get's better for you both.

 

Made me a shrimp quesadilla and then noticed the only cold thing I had to drink was beer. Great Success!

 

Beer review #1000! This is definitely a worthy beer for such an occasion.
