This will actually be interesting. USA today does not have all beer geeks like here. It may just turn out the most known with the biggest distribution wins.

Actually I like that one. More of the breweries are "in line" with each other than some of the clap trap bracket hypes douche BS I see out there.....

Where's Hill Farmstead? Oh, I forgot. There's no real content in this newspaper. Similarly, this contest has no real content either.

True, it doesn't feature a lot of great craft breweries, but I like the concept. It helps bring more awareness to these brands by creating curiosity within many beer drinkers that don't venture outside of the box. Not to mention, I love Terrapin and they made it to the Final Four, which I thought was cool.

Too many to have been left off... FireStone Walker, Hill Farmstead, Lawson's Finest, The Bruery, Cascade. I understand its subjective but how is Bells and #1 over Founders? Both are great but Founders is much more prominent.

Southern Teir beat the Alchemist, Dogfish head, and Victory? and currently ahead of Founders?

I like Southern Tier's beers just as much as the next guy but in my opinion they don't belong anywhere near the finals.

Well personally I think Heady Topper is overrated - and it's only one beer.

If I had the choice between only drinking Heady Topper, vs. drinking Southern Tier Porter, Unearthly, Gemini, Mokah, Choklat, etc - I'd choose the later. Variety is the spice of life.

Although I'm bummed they stopped making Iniquity, Oat, Javah, and Backburner.

This is interesting..... the USA Today-owned newspapers here in Michigan have been running a Michigan brewery voting contest, and it is currently in the third round. (Started with 32 breweries, and we're now at the Elite 8.) The interesting part is that Founders was beaten out by Short's in the second round.

The South! They could have went with Overrated Against the Grain or Underrated Country Boy instead of Prairie.

I'm confused, the link showed the bracket at the Sweet Sixteen. Is there an update?
