An early start to the day, enjoying this chili stout from Evil Twin. Subtle heat, alcohol well hidden.

 

Another nice but cold Sunday today, here's what I am having this morning

Fresh Torpedo, a fairly recent inductee into my go-to IPAs. With the Mills River brewery opening up, these have been available as fresh as ever in the last few months or so around here


Last years batch is tasting incredible right now. Great presence of barrel flavors with balanced dark malt and dark fruit notes all around. Huge caramel, brown sugar, molasses, toast, toffee, raisin, fig, date, vanilla, bourbon, and oak notes. This is always amazing. I need to remind myself to go pick up more, I only have 1 left.


4 years old, still have 2 more left. Oddly, I never stocked up on other years; I just randomly bought 6 in 2011. I'll have to change that and pick up a handful this year. Anyways, this is still tasting awesome. Picking up a bit more of raisin/prune fruits with molasses/licorice than I remember from last year from this vintage; but still has plenty of dark chocolate, cocoa, and coffee flavors in the foreground as expected. Delicious


This band has made nothing but amazing albums for their whole career.

 

Seems like it's shaping up to be an Evil Twin day around here. I'll contribute with I Love You With My Stout.

 

I wish I had an evil twin. Her name would be Samantha and she would be blonde and married to a dumbell. . . oh wait . . . Happy New Beer Sunday!

 

Spent another long night in a chair at the hospital - my stepfather is having quadruple bypass in the morning. Got home and popped some Wicked Weed to sip while I cook a massive breakfast. Good Sunday morning, geeks!

Deliciousness continues.

It's definitely different from what I was expecting, but it has a great complexity, which I love. (But also: pretty much you can make anything hoppy and I'm going to swoon for it.) He/they may be undermining your trading aspirations with pretty wide distribution, although it's not that easy to find around here.
