So I'm mostly caught up on the thread, I was reading a bit while away the last ~32 hours for my friends bachelor party during downtime. I knew about a box that landed as I had a fedex notification (those are nice now that I have it setup), but I also had another box that I didn't know was on its way, but had thought perhaps it was due to other posts in this thread... pr0n coming when the pics finish uploading on my horrible internet...

Ok, so first... the "haul" from the weekend. I had a friend do a #pickitupformebro since a shop near him got sunday morning stout, and it still hadn't hit stores around here, and he passes that store fairly regularly and was able to pick some up for me. During the bachelor party while getting lunch, a buddy and I walked across the shopping center where we were eating and checked out a bottle shop he said was pretty good... it was alright, not a huge selection but I found 2 large format bottles there. Then today I went with the groom-to-be to a place near him just to check it out... wanted to get a sixer of some kind of localish IPA, but everything was 2.5+ months old, so I "settled" for the other two singles in the picture...

So... @valrxman happened to post about a shop near him having a deal with the devil... so we have a slight "open trade" going on for it. The box landed yesterday shortly after I left for the party which is unfortunate since I wanted to share it with some of the guys, but I doubt we would have gotten around to drinking it anyway with the way the night went. Of course, that wasn't the only thing in the box...

ADWTD (huge want, and the bottle that sparked this box)
Due South Category 5 IPA -- I've heard of this, excited to try it!
CCB Invasion Pale Ale -- I actually know very little of CCB offerings except Jai Alai and Huna, so while I've never heard of this one, with their reputation I'm excited to try it
CCB You Never Know -- See above. Also, wasn't this the one they gave out at Huna day? :grimacing:
CCB Maduro -- Again, see above. I'm excited to try some of CCBs offerings.

Huge thanks for that box Steve, really excited to dig into the cans, and eventually ADWTD. I'm planning your return fire... should hopefully get it out within the next month or so

On to the third haul... a little while back @Corriecrafts posted about a trip to Jackie O's, and I sent a message stating I'd never had any of their offerings but would love to try some given their reputation... well the box arrived (and since it wasn't fedex, I had no clue it was coming!)

    Rum Barrel Oil of Aphrodite
    Razz wheat raspberry wheat ale
    Dark Apparition

Very excited to try these, especially the two bottles (I'm admittedly not a HUGE raspberry fan, but I'm sure I'll enjoy the raspberry wheat as well as I tend to enjoy fruity wheat beers -- one of the first beers that got me into craft was the local lancaster strawberry wheat) -- expect return fire at some point as well Corrie!

All in all, a sweet haul of beer... and with KBS hopefully coming my way in the near future, I think I need to drink down my cellar a little bit before I go purchasing anything else (unless it's for the purpose of sending a box)

Such good beer. Gotta tell you, I compared the IPAs at EBF and Hop JuJu and Abrasive are simply some of the best. Thanks so much!

I think that's everything although I may have missed a bottle or two. Best beers, in my opinion, were Mocha Wednesday, Kona Speedway, and Vanilla Rye. The Trillium IPAs were also great. I thought the Vanilla Rye had gotten so much better since Black Friday. Much thicker with more Vanilla.

Definitely a fan, and lives up to the hype. A little boozy, and tons of coffee. I don't think it's a KBS/BCBCS killer like some of the posts on the release thread seem to imply, but it's definitely only slightly behind KBS IMO. Given how readily available it is makes it even better. Weyerbacher needs to go with a new label provider though... I had at least two bottles I noticed handling when taking these out of the 4 packs in which the labels are half coming off, and I've noticed that with other beers of theirs also.

Haha yeah, definitely saw your checkin. I think this could use a little time to mellow out, but it's also drinking fine as is IMO
