Dollar stores and thrift shops are great. Nabbed a .25 L grolsch glass for $.70 and a 13 oz snifter for $1.25

GOODWILL ! I regularly find full sets of classics from bygone eras! Also tastings/festivals are great for adding to one's collection. Oregon has an INSANE amount of beer swag floating around : ) we're blessed.

At first, Sams Quik Shop let you take the glass. Thats where the first 3 cases of glassware came from. Now I just scope out what I want, then replace what I already have. Trying to control the beast here.

it's still stealing lol and your op says "from wherever you can" do you only steal things you assume were free to the original owner?

anyway I've been lucky at good will and thrift shops they can have really nice glassware. for 99c I got a crystal piece that retailed for over 10$

I've had good luck at thrift stores and resale shops. Found really good prices on quantities of clear pub glasses and pilsners.

Found some nice glassware of late at local thrift stores and Goodwill.....I also enjoy getting a glass from a brewery I visit....

Just recently ordered from "Beerables.com"....some nice stuff but shipping is a bitch!

Here are some recent thrift store finds (all less than $1)

Libbey glassware for the most part - their products are available through Amazon, and through retail stores like Bed Bath and Beyond and Kohls...

My other glassware (branded stuff) was usually acquired at my local beer store when it was available, and then a few pieces are from other websites or were gifts...

If you're serious about stealing them and fell okay about it....you have serious character flaws.

I collect tin tackers but when the brewery does not carry them I buy a glass at the brewery.

I get a lot of mine at flea markets and breweries. There is also a local deli that sells lots of them. I display them in my garage using shelves I built out of rough cut lumber. The wall behind it needs paint I know. lol

It's ok as long as you obey the rules of glassware theft
    1. Only take promo glasses (The bar you're at didn't pay for them. They got it from buying the beer... that you just bought)
    2. Never take a regular unmarked glassware (Those are the ones the bar bought)
    3. Never take a glass with a logo on it of the place your at (They paid for that one too!)

    Stealing Glasses for Dummies:
The "I'll take this glass To-Go" - When eating at a place get a To-Go box for your leftovers and stash your glass in the box before you leave.
The Bonnie and Clyde - requires your girlfriend or wife to be an accomplice and stash all glasses in their purse. This move should only be done for the finest of glasses ( snifters, tulips, ect...) Remember it will be held over your head in the future when she wants that Michael Kors bag for $400.

    As for the character flaws?
Socially inappropriate? You could say that.
Illegal? Yes, in the most strictest sense of the word.
Morally wrong? Probably more Morally wrong than Illegal. But is it worse than taking a paid sick day from work when your not sick. Or downloading music and movies for free off the internet? I'll let you be the judge.

Its always polite to ask the tender/server if you can buy it from them. Just sayin.
No need to swipe that stuff.

I always buy from online stores, or at the brewery. Also, lots of trading.

Well said....yes we get the glasses for free but our supplier soon gets pissed when you keep asking for the same glasses over and over again (Karmeliet, Orval, Westmalle, Rochefort etc etc)
Ask and we'll sell you a glass at cost BUT it's the strangers who buy one bottle in order to swipe the glass who take the piss.

Also just because we get them for free it doesn't give people the right to pinch them (fuck it, it didn't cost them anything) people would soon complain when we don't have the right glass to serve with the beer because they've all been stolen....picture a Hercule Stout served in an Orval glass.
