Anyone know of any beers that are all dry hopped, with no hops added during the boil?

That would kind of defeat the purpose of hops

It would defeat the bittering purpose of hops.

Dry hopped berliner would make sense... right? I believe de Garde's Hop Bu is brewed with aged hops and then dry hopped so that's the closest example I can think of.

Try a Dry Hopped Saison or Lambic/Wild Ale.

They also help preserve the beer and avoid unwanted infections. unless you want a nice sour with a big hop nose.

I've had plenty of both, just wondering if any breweries have ever attempted making a beer without adding hops to the boil. There are plenty of ciders that are solely dry hopped, and I think I've seen on some homebrew forums that people have tried it with mixed results.

that's because you don't typically boil cider, simmer at most if it's fresh pressed and unpasteurized

I'm sure you could Dry Hop a Sahti, which doesn't use hops but instead Juniper Twigs for Bitter.

If a cidery wanted to make a cider with the bitter qualities of hops they would boil it. Gruit? Sahti?

So IBU of 0 with a nice hp aroma that probably is very sweet. I'd like to try it out of curiosity.

would almost surely be gross. too damn sweet.

i mean, if it's not too sweet, it will taste like dry hopping super dry rubbing alcohol (if you just use white sugar or some nonsense). thing would be bone dry in a bad way, or disgustingly sweet. need IBUs.

Just because a saison is dry hopped doesn't mean it isn't also bittered too.

Uh correct me if I am wrong but I believe all Saisons have some sort of hop addition throughout the boil. If I am wrong, I'd love to see an example.

Exactly. See example: FW Opal. Considered a "Dry hopped Saison" but is also hopped with at least two additions during boil. Even in their description, FW mentions "hop bitterness" which can only be ascertained by adding a hop during the initial start of the boil. Dry hopping a beer adds zero bitterness.
