Victory Brewing's Hop Devil.................

Great Belgian IPA. They better not kill this one too. Bright grapefruit/lemon/orange citrus and pine with balanced banana/pepper/clove/light bubblegum yeast flavors. A spot on American take on the style.


Really nice dark quad. Big raisin, plum, banana, toast, dark bread, molasses, and light-moderate cocoa/chocolate with some nice clove/peppery yeast ester notes. A bit more roasty than I recall last time I had this, but still has really well balanced dark malt and fruity/spicy yeast flavors with the plum fruit additions. Really delicious.


My favorite Session IPA. Simcoe hops are always awesome. Great robust/juicy hop flavors for the low ABV as well.


A very nice deeply bitter/roasty stout. Huge dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, and charred carob flavors with nice earthy/piney hops. Very smooth and very robust flavors. This is still lingering on the shelf in a few places, and I very well may snatch up some more. So delicious for a hoppy/bitter stout!

Tipping a Victory HopDevil in honor of the 5th anniversary of my father's death. Cheers Dad! After watching Alzheimer's rob him of his memory of his wife, six kids, and everything he loved doing for 7 long years, his death was a blessing. I never wish death on anybody, but I realized it's the best thing that happened to him, he was free. Shit, I should be drinking a Schlitz right now, that was his beer of choice when I was growing up.

 

You cracked the bottle, you tell us. Verdict?

I might sound arrogant, but I'm at least 88% sure I started this trend of posting beer with music.
