Apparently, there are some guys that hve site scrapping/monitoring software for that site. The minute anything outside the norm is posted, the software sends an alert to the users notifying them that something new is posted. Not sure what software they use but I was told of its existence a while back. I'll do some digging and find out more.

 

I think I just found the definitive point where beer turns from a hobby to an obsession.

agree 100%. i just had this conversation with a buddy of mine on sunday. its a really fun hobby that i would hate to see get ruined or...wait for it...SOURED! wooohooo!

 

That won't be hard to set up. @blue-dream I will look into it.

 

It's not very difficult to set up I have friends that have it set up took them about 10 minutes to setup and gives them a text message if something drops. It's hard as more and more people are flocking to etre and BiaB. Prices are rapidly rising on these sites and the supply is quickly dwindling.

I'm in Founders distro and don't need to be in this LIF, but I just wanted to tell someone about my office prank for today. It's not an original one at all, but I put a small twist on it.

We already have an office prankster, so I thought I'd set him up a little. He has an M&M dispenser on his desk that people take from as they pass by, so last night after he left for the day, I emptied some of the M&Ms out and mixed in Skittles. So yeah everyone knows that trick, but now my coworkers will think he did it to them and hopefully think he's lame for coming up with such a dumb prank.

Do you or does anyone know exactly what that is? Is it based on the type of hops? The amount of hops used? I've been finding that particular quality a lot lately and often do find it offputting, so if it's an easy thing to know when it's coming perhaps I could avoid beers likely to have it.

 

I never knew it could be caused by hops. About a year ago KRBC had this problem with every beer they bottled, so I always thought they rinsed the bottles of the cleaning product poorly.

 

Local shop got Pappy 10, 15, 20, 23 in stock this past week. Prices are so insane! I got a 20yr off the shelf years ago and didn't know what I had...wish I had never opened it!

 

That trick would be much better if you mixed in pills instead... no one looks at their handful of M&Ms, so 9 out of 10 times you get someone to crunch down on a pill of unknown origin.... or is this just despicable and I'm a horrible person?

 

I'm not saying it is caused by hops. I suspect it is, but I don't know; I'm hoping someone else could clue me in.
