Pure curiosity about such a high octane beer is what's driving me to post. How rare is this brew? How much does it go for? What have people had to give up for it in a trade? Being an Ohioan I'm subject to the 12% cap so any info would be helpful. Thank you all in advance and cheers!

    Rare. Expensive (like $200ish).

    Not worth it.

Gimmick beer. If you're blowing that kind of money, track down Utopias or place a Belgium in a Box order when they have Loons in or something.

Buddy of mine bought a bottle from overseas about 3 years back for his 30th birthday to share in shot glasses with about 10 people. He said after shipping it was ~$75/12oz bottle. Not bad, but very boozy & borderline gimmicky for the price. You could buy some of the best sours on the planet for more than half the price IMO.

This seems to be Brew Dog's business model/tag line.

Any idea to know when they have loons or is it just luck of the draw that you checked that day and they have some?

They have Classic Gueze as of yesterday when I checked.

Yeah, just keep an eye out.

TNP tasted like tobacco and an old catchers mitt.

I wonder if they dry-mitted it? Such innovation.

Same thing a buddy of mine did...it was about $90.00 after shipping and about a month wait. This was back in 2010. It was his money so I gladly partook, but, yeah...caveat emptor.

Only if they added some gasoline. I thought it was that bad.

$200 is a little bit off... I paid $75 (luckily I split this with a friend). If it something you want to cross off your list, go for it, but once the first sip hits your lips, you will probably regret buying it.
