Do you belong to a tasting group?

Hopefully more than another 20! Had a good time tonight, as usual. I'm drinking a Founder's Black Rye as I type this.

I voted yes, but I consider our society nothing more than a group of my beer nerd friends/relatives that get together once or 2x a week to split a few beers we are excited about sharing. Does that count as a society? I'm going with yes.

 

my buddies and I get together once a week, Usually on Thursdays and we try to bring new/different beer that we haven't had.

I want to do a blind tasting due to the fun factor of it along with scaling the beers. I like to see the different outcomes when you can't see the label.

 

I am in a group that meets monthly at a local craft beer bar. We buy a draft when we arrive, give our bottles to the bar tender, who then serves us. She keeps us in clean glassware, and we tip her out at the end of the session. We have a good time drinking beer and shooting the bull. I look forward to it every month.

 

Thats funny because my initials are lgb. And my dob is 62.

 

All my buddies have the Untappd App on their phones. So every Thrusday we go over to some one house and have "new brew Thrusday" bottle share. FYI: if you didn't know new brew Thursday is a badge on untappd

It's a small group consisting of me, myself, and I. We get along quite well but sometimes we drink too much...

 

Me and a few buddys, whom I work with at a craft beer store with get together every other Sunday and play pool/drink several pretty good beers.

 

Me and a few friends meet at the craft beer bar in town every friday for a bottle share. Every so often we will do a big bottle share and more people from out of town will come.

 

I'm not all about structured drinking. Throw in a game of horseshoes and it becomes unstructured drinking

 

Nothing structured. I host a yearly Christmas beer tasting which involves my closest friends and I getting knackered on silly good beer from across the country and devouring patent pending nachos, but that's about as formal as it gets.

 

Me and my oldest daughter. She never was much of a beer person, but now that she works in the industry she is eager to learn more. We are at Whole Foods every Thursday when they have a tap takeover and go thru the lot.

 

If you call having my friends or relatives and I bring different beers to a party, drink them and get a bit buzzed, then yes. Yes, I do.

 

I get together with a few buddies on the weekends and we barbecue and get smashed. Does that count?

 

Every Saturday afternoon there is a group at nearby bar, which I used to attend more regularly (before the kiddos). The group is rather large, but only three or four guys are there all the time, so the size fluctuates widely; usually 10-15. You don't have to bring a bottle to participate, but there are usually several bottles for sharing--many of the members travel, so we get a wide variety. People are straight up salt of the earth. Someone keeps a running tab of the beers shared online, even when they're homebrews.

 

I'm part of a secret underground fight club style tasting group...(shit I've said too much)
