Today I went to my local craft store to pick up my share of Enjoy By 4.20.15 . I picked up two six packs and went to cash out. When I heard the total I almost blacked out. $54.57. As luck would have it, my wife happened to be with me. Double-Ouch to say the least. I wasn't expecting anything that steep. The ride home was...interesting shall we say.

I must say that Stone Brewing and Lagunita's are my top favorite breweries. I spend a couple thousand dollars a year on each brewery. Today's whack at the register kind of pushed it all into perspective. Are a 144 fl. Oz worth what I pay to heat my family and home for a month? And more importantly...Am I being, selfish?

To say the least, today's "haul" made me feel incredibly low. I hated the idea that I may be splurging more on myself than the one's I love the most. I am really juggling the idea of giving this hobby a pass as is. How ironic that it would come to this expensive point for me to wonder if this expensive hobby is worth my very hard earned dollars.

I am curious to know how many BA's have got to a similar point that I am at, and continued to crack on. Ifso, how do you justify your personal habit with yourself? That is really where I am jaded at. I spend a lot of money on craft beer, and only I enjoy it. Maybe some friends, but my family is exempt. As you may or may not be able to tell, I have had a long and serious talk with my other half. I don't see a future spending $54.57 a 12 pack. Do you?

Thanks for your comments, responses, and concerns in advance! Fire away!

    Cheers BA!

Horrible! I have really backed off of the uber expensive beers. They are good, but they arent THAT good. There is affordable craft beer out there and I have made the choice to stick with them except on special occasions.

It was $14.99 a six pack in the city so that is all your store jacking up the price.

For the record, and I hope it does bring the bad hammer, the store is Bear World in Watertown, NY. I would have took a picture but I didn't know the price till check out.

    To give perspective, I pay $7.99 for Lagunita's Bombers and$8.99 for my #1 Beer...Sucks( 32 oz bottle)

In the DC area, I paid less than $15/6-pack (before tax). You should have put both back. That's worse than the bomber pricing.

$15.99 at my store, what part of NY are you in? Is that type of overprice normal?

I've consumed two, and I'm taking at least a sixer back. They are good, but not $24.99 good. At most, I would go $14.99 and Delicious IPa is better, and affordable.

Upstate NY. Near Watertown, NY For this store, it's the most expensive in the area. They are the only store that carries Enjoy By around here.
