Guys...I've drank some pretty good stuff, to put it plainly. I've been to the best breweries on the east coast and Vermont. I'll admit it is interesting but a lot of these beers seem to be sold on word of mouth and bashing the competition rather than quality. It's also unfortunate that the craft guys are ripping into the bigger names all the time. Everytime I'm with my craft beer friends and beer snobs, they are always bashing the bigger label beers that I'm partial towards. If I don't order some local brewery's Hop Bomb I get told I'm drinking piss...it's not cool anymore and needs to stop.

My friend for example said I should be ashamed of myself because I asked for a Shiner Bock instead of a Heady Topper at a bar in Vermont. What's wrong with people these days? Maybe I want something that goes good with BBQ corn nuts. Name a better CRAFT beer that goes with BBQ corn nuts as well as Shiner Bock? Can't do it can you? See, I don't mind smelling my beer once in a while like that hipster in that Buddweiser commercial, but I'm not going to be doing that between every sip if you know what I mean. And by the time you finish thoroughly smelling your Pliny the Younger for the 10th time, I'll be on my 5th Shiner Bock and ready to leave.

To each their own!?! I have noticed it doesn't take much word out of your mouth for other BA's to break out their shotguns of elite wit and start taking shot. It's fashionable to like and not like. It's even more fashionable to trump snob or discredit the palate of another individual. Go figure?

I will always be of the opinion, drink whatever makes you warm and fuzzy on the inside. Whether Pumpkin Peach Ale or Enjoy By 4.20.15 , just drink it

    Cheers BA!

Ohm, drink Shiner then. Who cares? Give them some ribbing right back if you feel offended. This is not difficult

I concur... My fridge is never without something considered swill by many others... Don't get me wrong, I drink mostly craft but sometimes i still love pounding down a few macros with some super spicy chicken wings.. Don't sweat it...

If I had to drink beer with friends like that I would stay home and enjoy myself a lot more.

If he was busting your chops, then you should learn how to bust his chops back. If he was being serious, then he's a loser.

Thanks boys, I don't post much but I just wanted to say what needed to be said. I'm also tired of how poorly some of the beers I like are rated here...while the beer snobs rave about the 20 different flavors they are tasting with their first sip of whatever craft brew they are on the bandwagon with. I'm an educated no nonsense kind of guy and been to a university or two...you saying that you are T-tasting steak, campfire smores and monkey picked oolong tea all at the same time? Yeah, I've read reviews like that...no lie.

Yeah beer snobs are like that man, don´t worry, let them be happy with their comments. Drink what you want, there´s beer for every mood, weather, budget, food, and now I might add "company". Cheers!

There are always going to be those people that have to prop themselves up with something rather than stand on their own merit with character. If it wasn't craft beer it would be single ended stereo tube amps, gastronomy, politics; anything but their own identity. Drink what you like and disregard the phonies Holden!

No matter how fancy and expensive it is people...IT'S BEER. You got people ragging about questions people ask, people not liking what other people drink. Whining about this , whining about that, what happened to discussions about new beers in different regions. Or brewing processes , or hops. I enjoy craft beer..cause it tastes good. It supports my community. I don't care what any one else is drinking, unless it's interesting to me. And then, I'll ask all the stupid questions I want about it. RANT OVER.
