Unreliable Narrator is a very nice IPA. Interesting yeast and hops combination.

@paddyfrankie the menu shifts a bit day-to-day, though typically most of our styles that are available on-site are offered in growlers to-go as well.

I'd like to officially start the campaign to get Superfuckingyawn into bottles or cans. One vote here. Really good stuff.

was thinking about visiting the brewery Saturday, is it a ticket only event or can we just come out and drink beer, SFY included?

@kennyo Superf*ckingyawn event is actually Sunday... no ticket required for anything except pre-fix lamb roast (which includes two glasses of SFY).

If you do want to come Saturday, we should have SFY on tap too - and, bunch of other new beers.

Stopped by in Friday. Tried Internal Contradictions (regular version), Hereyago, Wandering Bine, Superf*ckingyawn, and, I think, Unreliable Narrator. Very impressed with all of the beers I tried and had a great pork sandwich. Very convenient to Atlantic Terminal which is a plus.

There is a serious arms race going on with Threes, Other Half, Singlecut, Grimm, and Third Rail all bottling now. And I love everything about it!

So they're doing a Kickstarter to raise money for their backyard space... I have really mixed feelings about Kickstarter, sometimes I hate it and I've also been happy to contribute to several, but this kinda leaves a bad taste in my mouth...

    - the Kickstarter page and video really makes it sound like the're creating a "community" garden, but the designs still show that it's walled off in the back, so it's still really only an outdoor space for the bar

    - none of the rewards offer any beer? like the $10 contribution gets you a cup of coffee, but the next levels are for glasses or a growler, and it doesn't even say that you get 'em filled with their beer? weird. there isn't any kind of restriction from Kickstarter that would prevent them from offering beer as a reward.

    - they're already launched and seem busy and successful enough that it just seems like something they ought to pay for? I mean, if it were an actual community garden I would 100% back it but this just gives me a weird vibe.

No offense to the Threes folks that pop on here, or anything! I'll still be in for beers and Roberta's pizzas.

Wow. Joe, I entirely agree with you. I'm generally a fan of Kickstarter, and I'm DEFINITELY a fan of Threes, but this is in poor taste. As you mentioned, Threes is up and running, and while I'm not privy to their finances, the crowd has been incredibly steady (and big!) since their opening. If their backyard dream is bigger than the business can afford, then downsize the dream, or build it out over time. I mean, isn't this just a simple case of reinvesting in your business?

It may be an edit since you looked at it last, but it now clearly says the garden is intended for "patrons of our community" (emphasis added). So not a general-use community garden. If there's some nuance to this Kickstarter campaign that would make it seem less like a fully-up-and-running business asking for a free handout, I strongly believe it would behoove Threes to clarify.

And if I've learned anything in my 20 years on the internet, it's that businesses definitely heed the words of unknown strangers on anonymous forums.

glad that i'm not the only one that struck as odd!!

the other thing I meant to say but forgot is that they already opened the backyard and it seemed perfectly fine? I was into the oyster-shells-as-mulch, and it seemed like they had put in some good bench seating and stuff as well, perfectly suitable for drinking beers on.

Not to hijack or derail, heading to NYC in a few weeks and trying to figure out what to do and where to go between meals and whatever else the employer is treating us to. I was planning on heading to Brooklyn to check out things, I'll try to pop on by here and other spots I've seen mentioned in here
