I'm pretty confident that similar threads have popped up before, but a search didn't yield results. So, apologies if I missed a recent discussion.

Try to identify two breweries. First, the brewery that you think consistently brews the best beer at the best price point (not necessarily the best beer of any brewery overall, but the brewery that you think prices really affordably for the quality of the product). On the flip side, the brewery you think consistently sells beer at a price that, even though the beer might be high quality, you just can't really ever justify paying.

    For me,

Best Value - It's a toss-up here between Southern Tier and Lagunitas, but I'm going to have to go with the latter. First off, finding a $5 bomber of anything quality in NYC is damned near impossible, but you can find Hop Stoopid in just about every bodega in Brooklyn at that price, and that's a beer I'll gladly drink in place of DIPAs at twice its price point. Same goes for their Imperial Stout and Cappuccino Stout. Their six-packs are all outstanding. The upcoming return of Sucks to 6-packs and High West-ified at $10 for a bomber really put them over the top.

Worst Value - It's again a toss-up for me, between Perennial and The Bruery, but I'm again going with the latter. I haven't had a bad beer from the Bruery, but I have two problems - their pricing and their package sizes. The frequency and opportunity I have to go through a 12%+ bomber is not that high, so most of their offerings would sit undrunk for some time in my house. On top of that, only having bottles that generally retail for $30 and up here in NYC, I can only occasionally even consider spending that much on a single beer. I'd love to drink more of their offerings, but these two factors just basically eliminate them from my repertoire.

    So, where you at?

worst: mikkeller (but I love crazy brews like their weasel poop beer)

I know this will fall on deaf ears (as it always does), but please do note that Mikkeller's beers are priced on parity with other craft beers in Denmark. Blame The Shelton Bastards for the high import prices of Mikkel's beers in the U.S., and consider that beers from breweries like The Bruery are comparatively much more poorly priced relative to home country purchasing power than anything Mikkeller (or Evil Twin for that matter) puts out.

I often find myself rolling my eyes at criticisms of Mikkeller pricing - almost always from U.S. based users - when the Shelton Bastards are the real culprit(s).

Best: Sixpoint, Oskar Blues, Peak Organic. Firestone Walker too, not so much because they're cheap per se as because their beer is an absolute steal considering how superlative it is.

Worst: It would be easy to lambast any number of imported breweries here, but bearing in mind @kojevergas' excellent (and accurate!) point I'm going to go for some equally low-hanging fruit and say Rogue.

But Mikkeller choose to do business with Shelton, so they are to blame too.

Love FFF, but not paying their prices any longer. Passed over a bomber of APW for a 6 of White Rajah tonight. Same price $11.99.

Best "value"?? That's a game changer. Umm... I guess I would have to say Ninkasi (avatar). I Portland brewery here in the Pacific NW. Probably my favorite brewery with a very special place in my heart. They aren't too hoity-toity in price or style... but they consistently deliver an amazing entry in each of their styles. Their IPA and Double IPA serves as my standard.

Worst value? Dick's. I local brewery here in WA. I got a 12-pack verity. Not a single one was memorable. Worse than bad... every single one of them taste like nothing.

Best value for me is smuttynose. On occassion I can get 12 packs for $8.99 at market basket usually they are priced from $9.99-$10.99.
I concur on bruery for worst value and in general most large format bottles from all brewers are a poor value.

Tougher than I figured, so take all this with a hefty grain of salt - trying to moderate price with how I regard their beer, but my best value picks...

Best: Stone, North Coast (but not their barrel-aged bombers!)

Worst value was tougher to pick - I don't drink Rogue often, so I have no sense for it; The Bruery always costs and arm-and-a-leg; Evil Twin is pricey, Mikkeller is pricey... but I think their beers are pretty high quality - ditto for Crooked Stave (always expensive, but consider what you get)... I'm going deep here with *drumroll*

Worst: Nebraska Brewing *Reserve Series* (Hop God, Black Betty, etc.) - their price is the only reason I don't buy them, and I'll put Bruery as a runner-up sure, their barrel aged old ales are delicious bourbon bombs, but $30+ a bottle - that's really expensive

Best: For me I would have to say six point. All others mentioned are good as well and cheaper but for the quality six point prices are fantastic. Resin in 6 packs instead of the 4 pack norm. Also FW Is pretty amazing. even their bombers are fairly priced. Sucaba and parabola for 15-16$ and one of the better session IPA's with easy jack.

Worst: I can't believe I haven't seen it listed yet but Fifty Fifty eclipse series... I was leaning towards Bruery until I remembered that they are better most of the time than eclipse offerings but eclipse is a smaller bottle for 35$ at least. Anybody with me on this?

But if it was priced to high, it wouldn't sell and they would lower the price.
