    So not too many years ago, after I started getting serious about my beer drinking... I started keeping a "Beer Book." I've tallies my entries recently and I was in the 290s. I just drank my 299th Beer (different type of beer). It was a Colt 45 American Malt Liquor. It is my first Malt Liquor I ever had. Not bad. I was expecting something harsh and difficult to go down. Quite smooth and sweet, actually. For good ol 300, I bought "Lost and Found Ale" from the Lost Abbey. I was looking for their legendary Duck Duck Gooze, but to no avail. Anyway, just wanted to share my experience before I pour 300 into my Chalice. Cheers!

    Share your special beer milestones please. And here is a bonified picture of my Beer Book:

    Recently reviewed my first Alpine IPA, Exponential Hoppiness, for my 1,000 beer review. It was a worthy beer for sure!

    I'm starting to think about what I want to drink for my 1,500th.. 148 away. I'm leaning towards Drie Fonteinen Armand'4 Winter.

    Congrats! I recently hit 3,800. I remember when I was living in New Mexico and had tried 150 different beers and thought to myself, "Wow. 150 beers!?" I couldn't have named 150 different beers to save my life a month before that. Then, I pretty much woke up and was living in Brooklyn and had tried 2,500. :astonished: 'Tis madness.

    Those are only the beers I've written reviews for ( I don't do the rating only option). I've probably actually tried around 3,500 different. But when I joined BA, they used to place a lot more importance on quality reviews, rather than just 'ticking.' So I only review the beers that I have proper time to devote to.

    Jesus. 1000. 1,500. 2000!? 3,800!?!?!...... ... I'm out. Maybe some day. I've only been at it for about 2.5 years now. I just regret that I started so late in my 30s.

    Just for fun, I tallied by year the 983 unique beers I've reviewed since I started in June 2011 (e.g., year 1 = June 20, 2011 through June 19, 2012, etc.). I think the pattern is pretty clear...
    Year 1: 402 beers
    Year 2: 254 beers
    Year 3: 209 beers
    Year 4: 118 beers (and counting; 2.5 months to go)

    I guess you could say I came out swinging. And I'd already tried about 250 unique beers during the 8 months before that, between September 2010 and June 2011, at which point I decided I was ready to start officially reviewing. But a lot of those were beers I later ended up reviewing, so they don't really count separately. I've also done a few re-reviews over the years, so the original number of beers I consumed during those first couple of years should actually be higher.

    Also, for what it's worth, the vast majority of these were full containers—ranging from 330mL to 750mL bottles (a lot of 750s)—not 6oz pours. And of course, none of this accounts for multiple bottles, repeats, 6-packs, 12-packs, cases sometimes... It's actually a little scary when you think about it...

    EDIT: Oh, and by the way @isturbo1984, I'm 45. It's never too late.

    I remember a group of folks (from Denmark maybe?) who hit their 10,000th several years ago, if I am not mistaken - maybe 5 or 6. I couldn't find a source for it, but I recall it fairly clearly. And, better late than never @isturbo1984. :slight_smile:

    Edit: Pretty sure that Danish group may be these folks at the top? https://www.beeradvocate.com/ratebeer/?path=/Users/TopUsers.asp

    OP got me curious and I looked back at what my 300th review on this site was:

    JP Noel de Calabaza on Jan 2012.

    I should revisit that one again.

    My biggest milestone review #250 (Mikkellers 黑牛) was also the biggest ABV beer I have ever drunk at 19.30%... I wanted to go even more extreme for my 500th review but I couldn't find anything bigger than 8 Wired's Bumaye Imperial Stout aged in Pinot Noir barrels... oh well, I'll find some monstrosity for #750 and #1000.

    Also don't be discouraged seeing people rack up higher numbers than you - beer appreciation isn't a race, it's a journey.

    Take your time and enjoy the milestones as much as the single steps :wink:

    Previous milestone beers, which were purely unplanned except for #600, which was measured:

    100 - Immort ALe
    200 - Third Coast Ale
    300 - Gold Leaf Lager (Devil's Backbone)
    400 - Abbaye De Saint Bon-Chien
    500 - Péché Mortel (Imperial Stout Au Cafe)
    600 - On the Wings of Armageddon

    I am currently madly ISO of ADWTD for my #666 and also looking for a 668 Neighbor of the Beast for my #668 rating.

    I'm at 1800+ on Untappd. Looking at my badges I had:

    1 = Sam Adams Octoberfest (used to be my favorite beer)
    100 = Rochefort 10
    500 = Abyss
    1000 = Bourbon County Barleywine

    I remember drinking a bottle of Sam Adams Utopias from 2009 as my 1000th. Sadly I wasn't able to figure out what 2000 was since I wasn't paying close enough attention at the time. 3000 was a bottle of Kuhnhenn Raspberry Eisbock from 2007. Was hoping to have Three Floyd's Bourbon Vanilla Dark Lord as 4000 but ended up with Baller Stout instead. Not really sure what I'll have for 5000... only a 156 more to go. I better start planning.
