Haven't seen a thread or anyone even talking about it. 18th St is releasing all their BAed Hunter variants on tap and some will be bottled is 12 oz bottles. The event is April 24th the day before dark lord. Seems odd to have it on a friday since they always realease stuff on Saturday. They have to be hoping to get some people that will be attending dld. I guess not a bad idea to get people from all over trying your stuff. Is anyone going?

A buddy coming in for DLD and I will be there Friday around noon and I'm hoping to get a sense, through this thread, how big a shitshow it'll be. I'm not interested in bottles, just want to start off a great beer weekend with great beer.

This was discussed in the "Official DLD" thread and it seems they are catering to a lot of people who will be in the area for the festival. Word is that it will be a ticketed event in order to avoid a massive shit show, but no word of how it will go: In-person or online. Of course, since my buddy and I will be coming from out of town, we hope it will be an online ticket sale. They just say to check back later for more info.

They posted a pic on their Facebook page of some bottles being waxed for the event. This was a barrel-aged brown ale. I am hoping some of the stout varieties made it into bottles as well. As much as I like 18th St. beers, I just can't get too excited about a brown ale.

Yea, a BA brown doesn't sound to great. I really loved the beer they put out but I can't take buying canned or bombered beer from them anymore. Crazy price points and they are always flat. Ill drink there but no more taking cans home. I bought 3 bombers of undercrown and wasted my money. The beer was flat. I bought it the day they realeased it and drank one that night.

If it is a ticketed event, which I was given the impression it would be, I would highly discourage people from just showing up. 18th Street is not a huge space.

I've never had a problem with undercarbed cans & I feel the price is right on as well. The most I've ever paid was $15 for a 4-pack of Sinister dipa. Everything else hovers around 10 bucks a 6xer.

I will agree with you that the cost of bombers that aren't Sour Note releases or Hunter Stout variants can add up quick.

I would let them know about these issues via email. I also had some bombers of Under Crown that were undercarbed (flat) six or seven weeks ago and dropped them a note. Drew and Company kindly replaced them with whatever else they had for sale that day (even the two I'd already opened to make sure one wasn't a fluke) on my next voyage down. They were polite and reiterated that people need to speak up if they are experiencing quality issues as they cannot fix what they don't know is broken.

While I like most of their beers, many of the releases are turning into shit shows. This will be the ultimate. Just be prepared for one if you go.

Most 6 packs I have bought are 13 from the source. If you go to liquor store add another 3 dollars onto that cost plus tax. I have drank a lot of their beers. I have been lucky enough to have 26 logged. You are lucky to have not ran into a flat one 30mins. But thanks for the advise Erick. I'm not one to say I didn't like something or I guess "complain" but you are def right that they can't fix something they do not know about. I just figured you would try your product before releasing.

Drew did say on Facebook that they do not have the space for a bottle share and that they would not be endorsing a bottle share.

Also, FWIW I believe I've had 36 or so beers from 18th Street and each beer has been properly carbed.

I've had several bombers when opened had little to no carbonation. I did return a Grapefruit Dead bottle once from the first release and was able to exchange it for another bottle. Joey was very understanding and polite. No complaints with their customer service. But I've never come across as many undercarbed bottles from any other brewery. 18th really need to invest in a meheen like PW did. Used to get an occasional problem bottle with PW but not since then.

Curious as to what the prices will be on the BA beers. Doing 12 oz bottles will certainly make the price/oz more palatable. Not like they won't sell out anyway.

I had the barrel aged brown ale and it was very good. It's got dates in it as well. Drew hates brown ales and said he'd never pour one in his brewery. Another brewer convinced him to let him brew this and he said he doesn't regret it. I highly recommend it.

I was thinking about taking the day off to go to this, but it's probably going to be too nuts for my taste. I'll wait and see what the ticketing situation is like, though.

I am certain it is better than most browns. It is still a brown ale.

I was there yesterday and someone might've let a secret out that they were not supposed to. Apparently there is a beer called "Bitches be Trippin". Bitches Bank barrel aged. No clue if this makes it into a bottle but I was told this beer exists in a barrel right now.
