    Keep the faith, Brian. I had to do 2-3 hours of homework with my daughter 3 nights a week until 4th grade because she was and is smart, but veeeery impatient. She is graduating High School next month with honors, and about 80% of her college at Arizona St. is already paid for.:grinning:

    Good evening all.

    Today I am enjoying one that I've heard tossed around here but never actually tried. Anther great benefit of this community is just that - being made aware of beer you'd otherwise pass up. It's real easy for a beer, especially an IPA to get lost in a massive sea of newcomers, shelf turds and stalwarts.

    Well, here it is:

    Not getting a ton on the nose, just something malty but no real aggressive hop signature. Taste is immediately bitter but again, without anything that describes the bitterness. Not floral or piney per se. Maybe a touch earthy but finishes off a little metallic but not like in an infected way. The bitterness is oddly suspended throughout each mouthful. Maybe just a hint of heat?

    Well I don't do themes often but seeing it's Thursday, throwback perhaps??

    Barreled Souls Big Bang American Barleywine it has that toffee presence and the hops are dialed back like Old Stock Ale really it's quite good

    One of the few beers I've bought without looking at the BA rating first. I think it was a good choice.
