Question - sorry, can't read through 45 pages. And, because I'm old and the memory is fading, and this will be my 7th straight DLD, they are all a blur at this point with how much this thing changes every year.

Anyway - once you get in with your "Guest" - can you then split up? Or do you have to go through the DL line together as well?

I'm asking because there are four of us, one pair in Group C and the other in Group E - but the two guys whose names are on the ticket want to go through the DL line together. Yes, I know - how cute.

Thanks and cheers you freakin' whippersnappers ....

I believe the running waters people have stated that you may need to go through the DL with your guest as well. In years past you haven't, but things seem to be different now.

Well, it wouldn't be a DLD without at least a little confusion and irritation.

They haven't changed any of the language on the website to show that change. You would think that would be something they might want to get out there. Since it's been pretty common practice for that not to happen.

Almost definitely will not be the case. They is not explicitly stated as a change anywhere that I have seen. You have 6-10k people with tickets and a very large percentage of them will be in a drunken rage when they get through what could be a several hour long line and are told they cannot buy their beer without the original ticket purchaser.

My thoughts exactly. In some ways this is almost trolling to the people spending all day drinking high ABV beers at DLD. On the other hand, how often do you get a shot at CBS?

So now there's another level of strategy to DLD--"How much can I drink here, and still be coherent at 8pm?"

Looking forward to the stories I'll be reading on here after 4/25.

Received my group D tickets yesterday and was never notified via email. I did have Express delivery, not sure if that makes a difference.

I read it somewhere. Someone emailed them this exact question and they basically said "FFF might also ID in the DL line so you should stay with your guest when you get bottles". I agree that this most likely won't be the case as IDing again would turn the DL line into a total shit show.

So I guess the plan is Barrel Massacre, Flossmoor, Hotel bottle share, DLD, then Beer geeks within 2 days? Sunday is gonna be rough.

You forgot Local Option between Flossmoor and bottle share.

I am being realistic. Bottle share on Friday and Dark Lord Day are good enough for me, and I'm staying at a private residence within walking distance of the brewery.

Came home with a little treat from GI Clybourn yesterday and got some good news in the mail. No notification; just showed up in a UPS 3 day service envelope.

Double Date is pretty solid; it's like a lighter version of Raisin in the Sun, which I loved. Nice raisin/plum taste going on in there.
