With the upcoming and highly anticipated (for me, at least) release of Boulevard's Aztec Chocolate Imperial Stout, it got me wondering what other "Mexican Stouts" are out there. It's a subcategory of a subcategory but as it is my favorite style, I'd like to see what others there are which I have yet to try. Some include coffee, chocolate, vanilla beans, cinnamon and other spices so we'll keep it simple:

Which somewhat available Imperial Stouts include chili peppers?

    Those which I've had:

    Cigar City Hunaphu (and variants)
    Prairie Bomb (and variants)
    Westbrook Mexican Cake (and variants)
    Central Waters Space Ghost

Those which are on my wants:

    Perennial Abraxas (and variants)
    Clown Shoes Chocolate Sombrero
    Birrificio Del Ducato Verdi

    Which others am I missing?

I think maybe Xocoveza is the style you´re looking for.

In Mexico there´s a "Stout de olla" that emulates flavours and notes from mexican "café de olla" which is coffee with cinnamon, brown sugar and other stuff I don´t really know. I think you might like that. You are to far up north, but If you were closer to the border I would send you some. Brand is "Santa Sabina"

Sounds absolutely delicious. New brew it looks like, I'll have to take a look next time I'm in Southern California

Is this available throughout Mexico? I'll be in Monterrey in June and this sounds delicious.
    Cheers

I Don´t know, I know the brewery is from Guadalajara, but I´m not sure they are available in other states. I´ll ask them.

Edit: Yes they are available in a place called "The Beer Company Monterrey" here´s the address:
Av. Topo Chico 855 Local 2 Col. Anáhuac
    San Nicolás de los Garza

Is this available at the brewery regularly? Or in bottle shops in the city?

If you trade/ever make your way to Michigan I would suggest Oddside Mayan Mocha/BB Imperial Mayan Mocha.

Anyone know how far outside Michigan, if at all, Odd Side distributes?

Ska has a nice Mole Stout. That and Copper Kettle Mexican Stout. Not sure how available they are outside of the CO area, but both are good enough to look into. Clown Shoes Chocolate Sombrero was decent (at least 3 years ago).

I'd say Chocolate Oak-Aged Yeti fits the bill, it's out right now and it's excellent.

Pretty sure zero distribution outside of the mitten state.

    Agreed.
That's a way better beer than Stone Xocoveza.

Tiny explosion in my head occurred when I was just about to bash you and read that there's Cayenne in that beer!
