J Wakefield in May

Special fills on Thursday, they usually post about it on facebook. Seems like they didn't do one this week, last week was a strawberry DIPA.

It's worth going regardless, they just had their core lineup when I went and it was solid. He had some peanut butter porter or something that was very tasty. Who knows, you could get lucky and get some fruit bomb berliners on tap.

 

I went this past weekend, cool little place. I tried their brown ale, some peanut butter porter or brown ale (forgot what it was), hefeweizen, and doppelbock and didn't think much of them. The Strawberry DIPA was good though. I found Wynwood Brewery's flagship stuff to be much more solid. It's worth checking out and I'd go back on a weekend where they have some of their seasonal and different brews on tap.

It's not everyday I see someone giving Wynwood daps on their brewing.

It's actually been a while since I have heard someone do so.

 

Peach ipa at j Wakefield was solid, stop over at wynwood brewing it's 2 blocks west of j wakefield.

 

The other issue you may have is they've run out of growlers a couple of times. I was there this weekend and they were expecting some in, so hopefully by May they have some. I don't remember if they fill growlers from other breweries but I *think* they don't. As mentioned before, Thursday's they do special fills, but I don't think it's a weekly thing.

I would follow them on instagram/facebook to get the latest. Good news for you is that they are brewing PFDF right now.. you may arrive right on time to get some in May!

 

FB is the way to stay on top of what's happening at JWB. They post pretty much on a daily basis any special treatments they'll be putting on, specialty growler fills, food trucks, etc. You can get growler fills of their flagship beers any day. On thursday (though not every) they do a small amount of specialty growler fills, usually 20-25. Mendez is always a cool place to swing by. Check their IG as they do a pretty good job at staying active on there. While you're in the Wynwood area check out Kush. Really good food and a really nice selection of drafts and bottles. As far as Wynwood Brewing, their beers have gotten considerably better as of late and it's right in the neighborhood so go and see for yourself. Boxelder is a new addition to the area as well, so if you have the time just spend an afternoon/evening bar hopping and check out a few different spots

DFPF will drop in the tasting room this Saturday, which opens at noon.

Bottles for OG members will be available for pick up next week.

 

Kegs only. OGs get one bottle with the opportunity to purchase a 2nd. It will be interesting to see the ISOs once some of these bottles hit the trade boards

 

Sounds like some OGs are about to receive a few arms / legs / first borns.

 

Anyone successfully get their OG proxy updated? Is there an OG's only email address? Just wondering - I need to update mine and a buddy emailed weeks ago (responding to an OG email) and never heard back. Just hope they expect some changes since beer is finally ready considering it's been a while since we all signed up!! Thanks for any info!!!

People I trustee for haven't had any issues and any changes have been made in a timely manner, but I'm sure that's not the case with everyone since communication in general has been spotty at best. There is not an OG Only email as far as I know. I would email them again if I was you
