Pseudo Sue has been a bit of a white whale for me so last week I created this thread http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/iso-pseudo-sue-ft-list.277358/ in the ISO/FT forum. With in a matter of days I was drinking my very first Pseudo Sue (for the cost of shipping!) courtesy of a very kind BA (@lucascal7). I was blown away by the generosity of this BA and although I thanked him profusely I wanted to create this thread as an additional thank you and recognition of BA gold standard. Unlike other forums trolling, rudeness and internet 'flaming', while more common then a few years ago when I signed up, is still very much frowned upon on BA. Part of what attracted me to this website was the generosity, knowledge base and good spirited nature of veteran BA's/the overall tone of the BA forums. It's awesome to see, and yes be the benefactor, of the big hearted BA community. In the spirit of magnanimous camaraderie what is the nicest thing a fellow BA has ever done for you?
Nice to hear. Some people are just crazy generous traders, looking at my Wants list and throwing big-time beers in boxes as extras. I do my best to provide good extras, but my mind has been blown several times.
Glad to hear this! I recently signed up to BA and in reading many different threads/forums have seen so much more negativity/snobbery than I thought I would. I happy to know there are still plenty of good BA's out there!
I have been extremely fortunate to trade with some amazingly generous BA's - namely but certainly not limited to @CSO, @Jaycase, @Maven01, @Yellolab2010, and @patdunkel. Earlier this week, I asked one of these guys to possibly grab a beer that I thought he might have access to. Yesterday, I received a box of 9 amazing beers that included the one I requested and several outstanding wants of mine. Thanks all you guys for making this a really fun hobby!!!
@SammyJaxxxx once sent me a 6-pack of Nugget Nectar out of the blue. In fact, we have exchanged a few boxes without ever really agreeing to a trade. He is very generous.
My dog's best friend is a turquoise blue hamster that ate his way throught the wall of my new purchased home. (Unknown by me from the realtor.)
I have yet to trade but it sounds very appealing. I think a lot of people just feel good making others happy. No pretense, no bullshit. I know when I make a deal, a sale or a trade, part of my motivation is making the other side happy. I'm glad to see that there are even more generous people than I...thanks. There are too many high quality people to even begin tagging them here. Pseudo Sue is a world class beer and cheers to you OP for getting a bottle. By far, my favorite APA I've ever had.
I have to give a shout out to @LaineG , he porch bombed me today with a totally undeserved box of locals, and some sick glassware. He insisted on not wanting anything in return but ill show him. I'm going shopping and I'm going to return the favor. Btw this is the first interaction between us, we weren't established trade partners. All of the trades I've done have surprised me w/ great extras but this gesture really stood out. When I figure out how to post pictures ill put it up on "latest hauls" Thanks again man, You're the man!
I had a similar experience last year with Heady and Zombie Dust...I made a tongue-in-cheek remark, about probably never getting either of these before I die, and 2 BA members reached out and send me one of each...It's all about the beer karma
