not sure what my final list to bring is, this is my first DLD but i was thinking

I'll be bringing fresh growlers of Alpine Nelson, Duet, and Hoppy Birthday. In addition to some other swill from PA/OH.

 

That looks like a great list. I've had a few things from pizza boy and they absolutely kill it!!

 

I think you did get a good deal, my group and I all liked the Moscatel more than the BVDL.

You guys are doing it right... I wonder why the people who will bring 1 bottle of a 6 month old shelf IPA, in exchange for pours of DDG, Veritas, BA darklord variants, Fou Foune, etc. aren't posting what they're bringing?

I am bringing 2 12 month old IPA's, I expect pour of all the beers!

and then maybe a fresh IPA from Spiteful, maybe Sump or Parabola

Honestly though, you don't need to bring the whalez. Last year I was next to a group that had a bunch of Sweetwater shelf beers and I was happy to share with them everything I brought. It is nice to try any out of market beers, even if they aren't rare.

 

Exactly, last year being my first year I brought a bunch of good local limited stuff and shared with everyone. Even if I had a cellar like I do now I would still share with everyone, to me that's the best part of the line shares/craft beer/DLD, sharing!

Random 18th St. And Burn 'Em stuff. Don't take local beer for granted, it's great to try shelf beers outside your distro!
And we always do the big shelf coffee stouts (kbs, BCBS) early morning.

 

I'm a huge proponent of sharing freshies...I like big BA stuff, but give me a fresh IPA from a place I've never tasted before? I'm in.

 

No one in this thread is referring to BCBS/KBS as shelf beers, I don't think. You're right though, there's plenty of good shelf stuff out there; I would imagine most people are talking more about (not) bringing Sierra Nevada Pale Ale than they are bringing a 4-pack of BCBS.

 

I'm thinking I may try and grab a growler or two of fresh Half Acre brews the day before to share. Seems like something that folks could get in to, especially if they have Space around still.

 

I checked their tap list earlier today, and it looks like Space should still be there. Akari Shogun is always a good choice, too.

 

Can't go wrong with a growler of fresh space
