As much as I would like to drink the good stuff every night, my budget sometimes restricts me to an affordable six-pack.

What are some affordable six-packs commonly found in your region that you recommend?

So hard to say. I've gone through so many evolutions of what I deemed to be affordable. Big difference. If I'm in the mood to consume, damn the wallet!

Currently, I have no go-to 6 pack. I buy shit tons of craft beer on $ale. 12 packs, 6 packs...usually $6 and $3 respectively. I'm a boss at catching sales and closeouts when they happen. So I guess it's those.

But if I had a favorite beer that comes in a six pack, it's Hoegaarden @ $7.99. If I ran out of that I'd flip. Last time I was at the World Market in Sioux Falls they had some pricing mistake and I bought all the Hoegaarden they had at $4.99/six pack. Most of my other faves only come in 4 packs or bombers.

    Other choices :

    New Belgium Abbey - $8.99
Central Waters Mudpuppy Porter - $8.99
Deschutes Black Butte Porter - $8.99

Good news, you can drink the good stuff every night and stick to only buying 6-4 packs.

I've found myself buying Fresh Squeezed 6 packs whenever I go to a party or event.
For at-home consumption I rarely buy 6 packs or cases these days...

Lots of Sierra Nevada.. Whatever's freshest between Torpedo, Beer Camp and Hop Hunter, those are usually 12 packs.. 6 packs it's usually Moon Man or lately Hopster.

I can usually find most Deschutes and Firestone Walker stuff for $7.99/sixer. Sometimes I wonder why I drink anything else.

Well, it probably would be Sierra Nevada Hop Hunter but the sadistic gnome of a distributor here on the Oregon Central Coast decrees we must drink up all the multitudes of (nicely shelf aged) 4 way IPA before he can be bothered to stock us up. Oh but that didn't stop him from pulling Beer Camp and substituting Summerfest, ya that's going to sell like hotcakes here in 45F pouring rain..... Oh the Humanity!!!!!

This thread is a couple of years old, but probably still relevant:

    Some good answers here too:

While pretty much any Lagunitas beer would qualify as an answer, mine is always this
    [IMG]
Year round. Available everywhere for $8 or $9/6. Full of flavor and under 6%. I also go through plenty of White Rajah. Also year round and arguably one of the best single IPAs in the country.

They're all pretty reasonably priced in my neck of the woods, with Torpedo probably being the best bang for your buck.
