There are some very knowledgeable people here who will claim that this doesn't meet the stye guidelines for a true Vienna Lager but I have to admit it is one of my favorite lagers. I grew up loving some of the AALs as that was what was available, and finally had to settle for the various BMC offerings as all the others went out of business. And while lagers are not my favorite style these days, SABL is a go to when the weather gets warmer.

That may be true, I don't know how widely it is distributed. I had it on tap a few times in SEPA and I really like that beer!

    Cheers!

Any particular locations where there may be a repeat offering?

Tom, I really don't know about repeat offerings but I have had it in the past at TJ's Everyday (Paoli). I also think I had it at another local beer bar but I can't recall the specifics.

I have no recollection of seeing Devil's Backbone Vienna Lager in bottles here.

    Cheers!

Surprisingly there are none obtainable from Europe worth a darn. Boston Lager is probably your best easy to find option and Dos Equis Amber as a backup plan.

Schell's Firebrick doesn't make it in distro, but would be easy to the trade for.

Yep, Boston Lager is the easiest found and when fresh, pretty tasty.

BA doesn't classify it as such, but if you want a widely-available Vienna lager and you're in a shitty distro area, Negra Modelo will do in a pinch

Funny because BeerAdvocate's page for Vienna Lager does say:
But both the brewer/importer, Crown, and BA call it a Dunkel.

Seek A Brew does not show Devil's Backbone distributed in AL, MS, GA, TN or FL.

Their Vienna Lager is very good as well as number of other styles. Don't sleep on the Kilt Flasher and the Rauchbier.

If you live near a Trader Joe's, they have a Vienna Lager from Josef Brau (their label by Gordon Birsch) for $6 a sixer that's very good.

    neshaminy creek churchville lager
    Brooklyn lager.
IMO I'd consider Sam Adams Boston to be a Vienna style may be that's just me though.

For what it's worth, they've changed the labeling from this look, but it's still the same beer and one of the best to style, in my learned opinion.

If you're interested in trying German styles, definitely look into the other Josephs Brau labels at TJ's.
