Whenever I go buy beer, I usually grab a sixer of something I like and then 3-4 cans/bottles of things I haven't tried yet.

 

I just realized I completely neglected to comment anything about the post

I usually get a load of beer once every few weeks (on average) so I would say around 8-10 new beers a month.

 

Copying most of the content below from another recent post, somewhat modified to make it relevant to this question...

I tallied by year the 988 unique beers I've reviewed since I started in June 2011 (e.g., year 1 = June 20, 2011 through June 19, 2012, etc.). So this year I'm around 12 per month.

Year 1: 402 beers (33.5/month)
Year 2: 254 beers (21.2/month)
Year 3: 209 beers (17.4/month)
Year 4: 123 beers (12.3/month, based on first 10 months)

 

I enjoy trying new beers as often as I can. It's easy for me with a place nearby constantly rotating 20 taps, and offering 4-beer flights. I'd say probably 21-30/month.

 

Usually looking out for new beer to try when I shop and sometimes in bars I go for a new offering so maybe 12 new a month. It varies month by month and when the cash flow is good.

 

I'm really lucky right now being new to the craft scene brings me damn near a new beer every day.

 

I'll sometimes go months without trying new beer. Not to say I'm against new beer, I just know what I like and I know how to get there.

 

When I get out to my local spot, I grab the usual: Pliny, EnjoyBy, Sculpin, but I'll try to walk out with 1-2 new beers each visit which is about 2-3 times a month. So I voted for 6-10.

 

I signed up for Untappd on January 2nd of this year. I currently have 424 unique check-ins. This is inflated by the fact that I work for a distributor and get to try lots of things all the time. I also have a regular weekly bottle share and several others that are fairly regular. I am a definite ticker, rarely drinking the same beer more than a few times. When I find something I really love, I will buy a case or two if I can, but I definitely love trying new things all the time.

 

I try to pick up a six of mixed beers new to me 2-3 times a month, so call it ~15 virgin brews a month.

I don't know my exact stats, but I voted 11-20 per month but I'd say I'm on the lower end of that. Probably 3 new beers per weekend on average. I usually buy one new beer bomber each week, and then find a few sixers of new beer for the rest of the weekend.

 

1 (occasionally 2) beers a night + no repeats (very rarely anyway) = 30+

 

I'm a huge ticker, and most of my beer drinking is for the purpose of reviewing the beer, so most of my beer drinking is of new beers. The only time I'm usually drinking beers that I've had before/are my favorites is when I'm tailgating before a DC United game, at a restaurant with a limited tap list, at a ball game, or over at families/friends house for a meal.

 

Initially I thought it said "how many beers do you average a month," and thought "30 doesn't seem like that many." I'd love to drink more new beers, but my budget constrains me. I'll pretty much always order something I haven't had before if I'm out, but at the liquor store it's pretty much what's on sale or what I can get for around a buck a beer. I drink a shitload of Sierra Nevada and Summit beers.

I generally don't tick. Every new beer I try gets a full review unless circumstance won't allow. Because of that, I expect my average will fall into the 7-8 range over the next couple years ... but we'll see ...

 

I lost count a long time ago.

 

I ticked over 400 new brews last year, although half were probably small pours at bottle shares or festivals.

Full pours of new beer, i'd probably average around 10/mo.

 

Based on my untappd stats, I've had 47 new beers in the last 30 days. 103 in the past 60 days....
