I posted a poll a few weeks back asking if you preferred more citrus or pine character in your IPAs, and several users opined that my poll was flawed in that many hop varietals yield both of those flavor and aroma profiles. So… let's go for more contrast. Do you prefer citrusy, or dank?

I love the bright, fresh aromas and flavors of citrus fruit and tropical fruits, but I prefer a more dank and sticky earthiness in my IPAs.

Gonna go with citrusy. Dank is a vague and hard-to-describe profile.

When it tastes of citrus rind it's dankish. So citrus dank for me.

I understand. I just like a musty, grassy, earthy, "green" quality in my hop profile. I don't smoke weed, but I used to quite a bit in high school and early in college, and I like an IPA that brings out the cannabis element of some hops. Nugget, Mosaic, and Simcoe, if I'm not mistaken? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Both are quite nice. I love a good dank double IPA!

Equal balance Citrus - Dank - Pine. Whereas no single component outweighs the other.

I can think of a few that do this very well...

"Equal parts both" is not an option. Think of it this way: If you had to have only one IPA hop profile for a very long time -- let's say you're serving 20 years in prison for gay beastiality -- and you can only have one IPA style snuck in for you by your sketchy cousin, what type of IPA hop profile would you request?

Sorry. Just trying to look at life from the viewpoint of people who respond to this post with "Both citrusy and dank." Life is black and white, folks; there is no "both."

In that case, keep your bottled fruit juice and pass me a uber fresh Dreadnaught!

I got into IPAs because they reminded of Dank weed. The citrus factor was just an added bonus.

You do have up to 10 fields in the polling option. I still don't think that would be enough.
