I alway wondered what people thought looks the coolest? Traders love the hype that goes with a waxed beer, it must be rare!!! AMIRIGHT?! I always loved a beer with foil over the cap, it looks classy and simple e.g. Cantillon, 3F. Ultimately, it's how the beer tastes that matters to me, and you can wax or rewax (see also 2014 Toppling Goliath Rewax-Gate incident) to your heart's desire, I just wondered what you guys thought.

    Cheers!

I think the Wax looks cool, but Foil is way more classy.

I like foil better, not messy and elegant.

I like waxed bottles. They look amazing. I would like to try and wax my next homebrew like some folks on here.

waxed although i hate getting that shit off of the bottle. the corks with the metal caps are real nice too. and firestone walker boxes look stellar

my non-BA friends are always more impressed with either wax or foil when I dig one of those bottles out. They immediately think it must be a "fancy" beer and are predisposed to like it.

Personally, I don't care much, as my beers go straight in the fridge / cellar. If I had to pick, I'd probably go foil.

Yeah, I think foil looks a lot cooler, and some beers are over-waxed and and actually a pain in the ass to open.

Just properly cap the damn thing. The cool part is on the inside.
If i had to pick id go foil as wax can get too messy.

The simplicity of a simple crimped cap is great, and as OP stated it's more about how the beer tastes, but I love the look of a corked and caged beer. Makes me feel fancy when I open it! :grinning:

If I had to choose, I'd say waxed with red wax has the most gravitas. Looks dark and slightly satanic in a happy "we're about to enjoy tasty liquid" kind of way....

I can live without cork and cage. I think all beer should be capped. Foil or wax . . .meh.

There's nothing more exciting than opening a corked and caged... and waxed bottle.

In order of looks...Caged, Waxed, Foil, Capped

Reverse the order for the way I like to open beers...every year I almost slice off a finger trying to open those stupid Terrapin Waxed Special Releases

IMO waxed probably looks the coolest, but unless it has that little pull-tab it's generally a mess and a pain in the ass; I think Cork & Cage gets my vote.

None Of The Above. Like Greg from Gregg's Beer Reviews says, it adds to overall cost.

I don't think I've seen a corked and caged bottle get waxed yet, soon maybe?

I take a knife, make a couple of revolutions under the cap, pop as usual and enjoy. My concern usually is pieces of wax possibly falling in haha.
