awesome...my liquor store in NJ has a crowler station that completely changed the way I buy beer. I would never get growler fills, but I get a crowler just about every other week. Especially with beach season approaching

That's around a 6 ounce difference. Not sure I see the draw. Smaller than that and we are just talking about cans.

That's pretty cool. Just ran into my first crowlers the other day at Stony Creek Brewing. Thought it was a great idea. Not sure why you would need smaller ones than 32 oz. though?

if I don't want to drink two pints of something i wouldn't get a half growler fill. usually I can crush it alone but it's also nice to share sometimes

What is the point? Any smaller and you might as well just buy rigular 16 or 12oz cans.

I'm not sure if I disagree with you on the first point but when you say, "we are just talking about cans". I mean, first of all, we ARE talking about cans. Secondly, the whole idea of Crowlers is to get any draft beer to go in a container that is a little more versatile than a glass growler. So, yeah, it's cans, but its more about better selection.

Sorry, I meant normal sized cans that are available already. OB has a 19.2 oz can already and then a 32 oz growler. There really isn't a ton of room in there to squeeze in more sizes, and even less need to. I understand and appreciate the crowler. The thought that someone wouldn't get one because they want 6 ounces less seems misguided.

Presumably, this new size would be boon for breweries who have purchased the system, but don't offer cans or bottles.

But they do have a vessel 6 ounces larger. I just don't get it. I guess I'm alone on this one.

More options = better? I mean, if I did not offer any cans or bottles (Draft only), and had purchased this system to fill custom cans, I think I would appreciate a smaller size, even if it is only 6oz smaller, as it just gives me another option entirely that I did not have. **shrug**

Also, I was kind of looking at it from a bar's point of view more than a brewery where they have a bunch of beers on draft and want to offer Crowlers to go.

I normally buy Crowlers for two reasons: to share or because there's some value in them to take home instead of buying multiple pints at the bar. I'm perfectly fine with a 32oz Crowler. Any less and might as well get a bottle/can unless it's soemthing that isn't bottled/canned.

A jumble of a can and growler.

Sure, but you have to remember that breweries are not the only places buying them...coffee bars also buy them, and I for one would love to have a smaller option than just 32oz for coldbrew coffee...

Honestly this is the first time I've heard of coffee in crowlers. I don't know enough about coffee to worry about its shelf life once opened, etc. Micky D's $1 large suits me just fine though I get where it would be helpful to others.
