    Unless they are aging this for some time, I'm guessing release would be mid to late summer, which seems odd for a barleywine. Will wait to hear more details from Summit. Excited to try nonetheless

    Considering Oktoberfests start coming out in July now and Winter Warmers in Sept. a late summer barleywine sounds about right these days.

    No complaints from me, just saying that's the way the seasonal releases go these days. I'll drink any style, anytime of year.

    No clue. The only info I have is from the OP. I was just referring to seasonals in general, so not too strange for a barleywine in summer I guess.

    This looks to be part of the Union series, due to the ingredients used they have yet to turn any of those into seasonals TMK. Which is a shame the Union brews have been solid so far.

    I hope it's a hopped up version of saga with some more malts. I can only imagine that tasting incredible. Or maybe this should just be an imperial saga... Nobody would be complaining when it is released then. Except that hater @maximum12

    Union #5: Old Blaggard will be brewed sometime in late April/early May and aged until just prior to packaging and release, likely in mid-November. Big ol' English Barleywine from the mind of Damo McConn with unique base malt, specialty malts and hops. Recipe formulation puts it finishing at 10-11% ABV. Not sure yet how much, if any, will see the inside of a barrel. We'll keep you posted with pics/videos from brew day and beyond on our social media.
