My two kids (now 21 and 25) grew up around craft beer and understand the pursuit of same. My son has become a righteous beer geek himself, while my daughter doesn't touch the stuff. However, she called me from the Whole Foods in Orlando where she lives to tell me she saw Cigar City beer she thought I would like and said "they only had two bottles on the shelf so I grabbed them both for you". One of those special father-daughter moments that brought a little tear to my eye.

That's a good story. I'm 23 myself, so it's a bit different for me. My parents aren't really into craft beer, but they understand my enjoyment in the hobby since I am always talking about it. When I was living abroad for months at a time, they were the ones who were out there picking up the new releases for me.

Mine are 3 and 9 so a bit aways from the legal age of 18 but i do make them sip my beers and they enjoy so i think they can gradually become my mules

I've got a little one and I have to admit, I'm stoked about the prospect of introducing her to craft beer when she's old enough. Obviously, it might not be her thing, but hopefully she'll have an appreciation for it, having grown up with it being a common staple in the household.

Until then, I guess I'll just have to indoctrinate the extended family

That's not muling really. That's being considerate and thinking about good ol' Dad.

Now real muling is this lady I saw last year at a BCBS release who had her two legal aged kids in tow in order to circumvent the bottle limit, and was loudly bragging to anyone unfortunate to be within earshot, "They don't even like beer!

Different spin on muling....When I took my 11 yo daughter to the Del Mar races last year I had her wear the backpack with 2 cans of Torpedo in it thru the entrance, figured that security would be less likely to check what she was carrying. I didn't tell her till after we got in either. Was that wrong ? Didn't seem to scar her... next time she was eager to do it again.

Any time my wife and I carry our 11 month old twins through the kitchen they have to tap our St. Bernardus metal sign and smile the entire time doing so.

My parents on on their way back from a trip to Florida. They stopped at Cigar City for me yesterday, and a few other bottle shops along the way.

My dad's also grown a strong appreciation for craft beer over the past few years.

My 70-year-old (non-beer drinking) mother comes down from NJ to VA a few times a year. She readily goes to a beer store during the week to get me some Carton brews.

She keeps them cold in her fridge and takes public transportation all the way down here. This involves a train, another train, a taxi, and a bus. Yet, she'll keep my Cartons cold in a small cooler for me.

Now that's being a beer advocate! Thanks mom.

You do realize that 70 is the new 50 and that today's youngsters are likely to live well into 100+ years. You'll possibly be a sprightly octogenarian buying space-brewed beers for your grandchildren.

My in-laws love me and know how I am about beer.
They spent the last 3 months in FL but hell if they wanted to hear about picking up beer for me.

My daughter brought me some bottles from the local microbrewery from where she goes to school. She has had their beer, but mostly out of her intense hipster locovorism, not beer geekery.

She also once texted me from overseas "daddy, how do you pronounce 'lager' ?"
