I concur! I just picked up some freshies from the San clemente location, not even two weeks old.

WBAYDN is a privilege, not a right. These threads didn't exist when I joined, and I hated not being able to post what I was drinking when I was drinking it (you could only post after, like, 8 pm, in LNBA). So the Brothers have allowed us to run a thread posting what we are drinking now. Whenever that now is. The idea is to post what you're drinking when you're drinking it. Simple. Now, there are times when you're out and about and taking some pics, and you don't get to post right there and then. Fine, post when you get the chance - we're here to advocate the beer, right? But be honest about it, and don't make it all about being the one to start the thread

The idea of "likes" and "awards" or whatever is also a privilege. We haven't always had either of these features. Understand? If this gets heated or problematic, or abused, the whole deal can be undone. Easily. Lotsa folks have different "protocols" about what they "like" and don't "like" but the person to start a WBAYDN is going to get a lotta "likes" and it seems that some folks try to be that person for no other reason than to get the attention and "likes." And I'm not saying that's @BeerVikingSailor - hell, I never thought about it or questioned it! I love that guy! Beer + Viking + Sailor - it's a no-brainer
It may seem ridiculous, but that's what seems to be what bothered @moshea (using old pics and beers you're not actually drinking now to start the WBAYDN thread). I have seen him express his opinion previously, and he is not alone in that opinion. But, I can't help but notice that his original post was deleted. Y'all should notice that, too - and I'm not in disagreement with his views, I'm agreeing that the thread is supposed to be about members posting about the beer they are drinking now.

The Bros are stern webmasters. They do not want a popularity or likes contest, or discussions about who is the best BA or which BA you'd most like to have a drink with... I'm no real vet on the site, but I've seen those threads deleted every time. While I'm on the topic, they also do not want threads about medical conditions or alcoholism. They also don't want threads that duplicate other threads. Hey - I'm no site rep or mod. I've had posts and threads and content removed as well. So I say this with love *awkward* and also from experience.

If you're not really the first person drinking a beer on any given day, please do not start a WBAYDN thread as if you were. If you are not really drinking a beer at the time you're posting, say so. We all do it - just call it. WBAYDN and NBS are intended to be "literal" threads ( @JuicesFlowing). Keep it clean, keep it honest, keep it civil, and most of all, keep it about the beer. After all, it is all about the beer, right?
