Ever forgotten which beer you were drinking?

That is the one thing I never forget.

 

I drink a lot of beer, but this has never happened to me. Probably because I prefer to space out my consumption over the entire week and I really NEVER binge until I lose my senses, pass out, etc. In fact, I don't think I've ever even been what they call "wasted," (and I've been a college student for six going on seven years ).

Besides, beer is my friend. What kind of person would I be to forget my friend's name?

 

This happens to me at some point during almost every tasting, never when I'm just having a pint.

Because after the 16th two ounce pour of something bourbon barreled & black, yammering, laughing, & generally paying less attention to the beer as the night goes on, you suddenly look down & go "WTF is this? CBS or Gizmo Stout?"

 

Happens to me every time I meet a Beer Advocate at Max's. It's usually after a few High Gravity beers are opened though and the bottles are gone.

 

I have never had it happen to me. I try not to get that drunk.

 

I've never forgotten what beer I'm drinking, but I have forgotten where I have set my beer on occasion, but it passes.

 

It can and has happened, mainly with obscure German beers towards the end of a .... ahem.. reviewing session. Schenkerbrau? Wenkerbrau? Penkerbrau?

nope. but what I'm guilty of is even worse. pouring a beer and then forgetting I have a pint of beer waiting for me....

I don't forget which beers I drank, but I hate it when I crack open a new beer as a part of a long session but later I'm too drunk to remember what it tasted like, so I don't bother rating it. That always feels like a trip on the fail boat.

 

Usually not until the next day. Does that count?

 

I don't forget the beer, just which glass is mine from time to time.

 

Just happened to me tonight. I was drinking Otter Creek's Backseat Berner, and switched to Harpoon IPA in the same glass after a while. Certainly very distinct IPAs - I was expecting the Backseat, and my palate was surprised!
