Okay so I brewed a beer yesterday and I used Wyeast 3944. Apparently I'm no good at reading instructions thoroughly. I put the packet in my palm and hit it repeatedly for a while and shook the hell out of it. When I pitched the yeast I opened the packet and slowly started pouring the contents out. Come to find out, there is another smaller packet inside the large packet, making me look back and read the back of the package again. Apparently the small packet inside is supposed to burst and mix with the liquid in the big packet. By the time I realized that, I had already poured all of the liquid from the big packet into the wort. I then popped the small packet inside and poured its contents into the beer.. What does this mean for my beer?

Nothing really. Crisis averted assuming you had a sanitary pitch and the yeast were viable. The job of the nutrient pack is really more like proofing the yeast. It doesn't do anything for cell count per se. Best to normal case scenario you pitched yeast. Worst case scenario if you pitched yeast without proofing it first. Fermentation hasn't cranked up in 1 to 2 days just repitch another smack pack.
