Anniversary Ale has been bottled- only around 700 cases will be released, state-wide. Expect it in stores, next week!

Anniversary Ale is a high-gravity wheat wine made with blood oranges. Flavors range from the spiciness of green peppercorns to the tang of blood orange zest. Aggressive dry hopping of Simcoe hops amplifies the citrus overtones and spiciness found throughout the beer. Anniversary Ale typifies Short’s Brewing Company by embodying all of the complexities that come along with another year of brewing.

    9.3% ABV
    63 IBU

This is cool. I thought I read bottles were going to be available at the pub only this year?

It was a misprint. Just Private Stache.

Great beer. Really excited. Is it normally 10$ a six pack?

No, I think I recall that the Anni Ale gets up to the $13-$14 category.

Feel like most Short's sixer's have gone up to about $13-14.

Noticed this to when it comes to the specialty releases. Liked things better when they were closer to $10-$11 a sixer, but when they keep cranking out winners, I will keep buying. As long as they don't pull a Founders and go to 4 packs, they will remain my go to.
    Bring on Anny Ale!!

From my knowledge, it's based on price of ingredients. For example, Vintage Premium Lager was a specialty last year, but retailed at $7-8.99 (unless the store gouged it).

Yeah, that's the only way to do it from a good business decision perspective. Vintage couldn't have had any expensive ingredients being a routine beer style, even though it was a special release.

That makes sense. Appreciate the info. Trust me, down around me, there is plenty of gouging going on. Wish I lived closer to the pub because the prices I see there in the available bottled beer always look good. Any chances of Shorts expanding and building a brewery down in Macomb to save a 4 hour drive

Keep up the good work and always appreciate the info you provide!

After Superfluid and Freedom this is a great follow up release.

Got a grumbler last summer and was not disappointed. Drank it at my wife's family reunion, tried to get some folks to share it with me, but they're all either wine drinkers or BMC. Had to drink the whole thing myself, such a burden.
It'll be nice to find in six packs, see if the flavor is any different.

@HopHeadHerman ... You said only 700 cases will be released, how many were released last year? This is my absolute #1 favorite Short's beer I've ever had

I think that's your particular bottle shop(s) markup. I'm still paying $10-11.50 for most everything except anni and juicy tree, don't recall what I paid for cup a joe but it was WELL worth it

I paid $13.99 last year. Damn inflation! $16 is still a fair price

the pricing is consistent from last year, wholesale anyways. i don't understand complaining when most founders backstage are 13-18 for a 750, and you only get a few a year. with short's you're getting something nearly every other week. it's important to support the flagships as well, so they can continue to make these specialty releases

Agreed. But I've noticed stores slowly trickling up the prices of the specialty releases.. bludgeon is 14 bucks at a lot of places around here.. (d and w has it on sale for 9.99
when last year they were all under 12 bucks..
problem is the brew is fantastic and now everybody wants it so these prices will probably always be going up
