I still need to visit Tired Hands. I've been slacking. It's only about an hour and a half drive.

What day? I'm actually visiting a friend out that way who lives about 15 minutes from forest and main and about 30 from TH and hope to visit both

Friend had a bachelor party in AC this weekend, the highlight of which--outside of seeing old friends, was being able to check TH off my short list. Saturday just after opening crowd wasn't hard to navigate and we were able to run through the entire tap list between the two of us.

HopHands was cloudier than we expected--we were told due to the fact that it was brewed off site for the first time. Not bad, but just a reminder to me that their beers are unfiltered. Good space, candied bacon paired well with the porter and the Celery Gose well with the pickles tray. Not sure what I would have thought of the Gose independent of the pickles; very different but as advertised.

    Will go back.

Fermentaria (35 Cricket Terrace, Ardmore, 484-412-8743) opens officially on Friday, April 24, though it might start serving a few days earlier, pending township approval, Broillet said.

Heard over the weekend that the 24th is tentative. Also heard BC members should be getting an advanced opening

I had HopHands at the Yards Real Ale festival yesterday and it was indeed EXTREMELY cloudy! It tasted fine but it was very unappealing to look at.

    Cheers!

Do you people ever go to tired hands? Their beer is cloudy 95 percent of the time.

I have been to Tired Hands a number of times (dozen?). The Hop Hands I had yesterday was like a lava lamp; much cloudier than I have ever seen at the brewpub.

    Cheers!

Yes, dozens of times. As Jack noted, the new batches are seriously way more cloudy.

    Unfiltered does = mud.

Ok well I have never had a clear glass of hop hands in the 100x i have been to Tired hands.

Also did the cloudiness take away from the taste?

“Ok well I have never had a clear glass of hop hands in the 100x i have been to Tired hands.” I also have never had a “clear” Hop Hands at the brewpub but I personally would use the word “hazy” to describe those beers vs. “cloudy”.

“Also did the cloudiness take away from the taste?” Well, it did for me only in the context that your visual perception is part of the overall beer appreciation process. If I drank the beer blindfolded maybe I would have a differing ‘answer’ here?

    Cheers!

No, it was my first time, as I stated in my post.

Not sure if you misinterpreted, but I was just sharing my experience, not complaining. Beer was still good. Had a conversation with three of the bartenders, who agreed that it was significantly more so than usual, which made me think that it may be topical in a thread containing posts from those who have yet to visit.

For me, yes, it did. Excessive yeasty flavors and too thick of a mouthfeel.

As @barflybastard noted, even the Tired Hands employees thought it was excessively cloudy. (I was drinking it bars in the city).

Making a trip on Saturday, was hoping they'd have fresh MagoTago for the opening...doesn't look like that's going to happen
