Lets see how this poll will compare with the current "top beers" of the style...

There was this one bottle of Westmalle. I don't know what it was, maybe it was super fresh or something. But that was a downright transcendent experience. It tasted like I was drinking it on tap right at the abbey. Damn. I get goosebumps just thinking about it.

La Fin Du Monde also seldom disappoints.

Curieux is a great tripel, but I think my favorite tripel is still Pisgah Tripel.

I chose La Fin Du Monde..my go-to tripel. Westmalle is a very close second and my favorite trappist brewery.

Weyerbacher Merry Monks for me. Admittedly, I've only had Tripel Karmeliet from the list. After my local beer kick I'm on right now (Cincinnati), I plan on trying more tripels and quads mixed in with some saisons and kolschs for the summer.

La Fin du Monde by a longshot for me. I can get it pretty fresh due to the fact that the brewery is about 6 hours away from me and that makes all the difference. La Trappe Tripel would be second.

Curieux was my first craft beer - also one of my favorites.

I agree with Leftofthedial concerning De Garre but I could only find it in Belgium. For my favorite available in the US I would say Gouden Carolus.

I always liked Westmalle very much.
Recenlty Battin Triple caught my attention- another belgium-styled beer from a luxembourg brewery, and not a bad one, though very different (and probably "not to style" by BJCP guidelines:wink:) I liked it more....

I'm passing on the poll. For me, La Fin and Westmalle are in a photo finish and the result on any given day could be in favor of either so I can't choose one over the other. Also, I'm scratching tha Allagash and the Dupont (Ave le Bon) from the list because of either the Bourbon Barrel (Allagash) or the arguability of the Dupont being a strong Saison rather than a Tripel.

Karmeliet for me, it's really easy to get here and you see it everywhere, but it is always my choice when I'm in a place that doesn't have that much craft beer, but only stocks the regular options. Just love the taste of it, never dissappoints.

I'd say westmalle But just barely. Chimay is also really good and achel. I'd just prefer the trappists. That said la fun du monde and curiuex are both really good too

Tripel Karmeliet is the only beer I ever gave a 5/5 here. It's amazing, but very difficult to find where I live. La Fin Du Monde is an absolutely awesome beer, is less expensive, and is widely available, so I have no qualms about buying it instead

As for New Belgium's Trippel, I felt it had too much bubblegum character for my taste. Just my two cents.

Funkwerks Deceit.....though it is more a fusion of a tripel and golden.

More traditional, Ommegang's Belgian Independence Day Tripel from 2012. I only had it once so maybe it just hit the right notes for me on that day, but probably my best experience with a traditional tripel.

Admittedly, I don't generally care for the style.
