I'm coming in to town and have the choice to either hit the main brewery or the North Park tasting room. Any opinions on this one? I'm staying in North Park so it's clearly easier to hit the tasting room, but would be willing to travel if the recommendation is for the brewery.

Both are great spots, there is just something about getting a taster at the brewery that makes me think it tastes better. So that is my recommendation, but obviously for convenience the Flavordome is a better option for you.

I snagged a pair of tickets. Liver already being destroyed at Copperversary, might as well put it out of its misery the day after.

 

In my experience Lomaland typically has more on draught, at least more specialty and one-off stuff

 

Saw this. Sounds awesome. Very cool they're doing it. Not a bad value, but just can't afford to spend any more money right now. If anyone has a good time, don't come back here and talk about

I, too, was at MT this past Saturday (4/18) and experienced the same thing while waiting to order. Most of the bartenders were chatting while I was the only customer waiting in line for several minutes. I've experienced this on another occasion at MT during a standard Saturday afternoon. I agree that MT seems very customer-centric, so I am surprised when I receive below average service when visiting the tasting room. Hopefully they can talk to their staff and resolve this issue.

 

I had the same issue the other night at Ballast Miramar. Waited for a bit over 5 minutes for the girl behind the bar to stop talking with her friend/customer/whatever. Had I waited for her to finish discussing her day I bet they would have announced last call. It wasn't until a completely different server came out from the back and directly up to me to ask if I had been helped yet that I got a beer.

So it is everywhere. Work ethic just doesn't exist within some people, especially in the service industry. It sucks but unfortunately it is what it is until you make their employers aware.

 

drinking one right now and enjoying it. not amazing but its better than most hoppy lagers. would love to crush a few bottles on a hot day

 

Well, I guess I will stop buy the store and pick one up. Saw them on my lunch walk and didn't want to carry it back a mile to my office.
