    Good morning good NBS people!

This will be short as the day is packed.

Drink a NEW beer and TELL us about it. Write a review, good description, picture, "D" all the above, etc.

No "what's in my fridge" posts or just pictures please. This is the place to educate about what's new and exciting in your neck of the woods.

Thanks for keeping NBS fresh, informative, and fun.

    Peace, love, and malty-ness,

    Matt

    <<-------__ NEW FRUIT BEER (Radler)___------>>

    Morning all--
It's shaping up to be another hot one in Northcentral IL... Luckily I have a cooler full of SN Pale Ale cans packed up for the pool! Before I headed down there I decided to type up a quick review of the Grapefruit Radler from Stiegl.
This beer just started appearing in our market, and I was happy to give it a whirl. Seems it must be rather new in general since I was only the 8th person to review it!
A little too much like grapefruit soda, I still rather liked it.

Going with Crooked Stave's WWB Blue. I had it last week, but will pop it again for some friends.

A local favorite, but one I had not tried on draft, Blue Mountain Brewery's Full Nelson Pale Ale. In pitcher form, even more glorious, full, and tasty than in bottle or cans. From my namesake, this is a favorite of the local breweries because they can it!

    New Amber Ale Sunday

    Greetings NBSer's,

Hot here in SCMN, but at least we got a shot of rain a couple nights ago to hold off the drought talk for a little while. Man, being a farmer must take nerves of steel to have your livelihood dependent on factors so out of your control.

I didn't quite follow Mattcrill's admonition of "in my area", but I went local for central Michigan. Had a buddy bring me back some beers local to that area where he had been visiting. Kudos to all those entrepreneurs willing to take the stab at brewing on a professional level.

This amber ale worked just fine on a hot day that needed something lighter and softer, yet with a bit of character. Works just fine for me today.

Best to all. Stay cool and enjoy a tasty beverage.

    Organic Belgian Style Ale

I'm an NBS rookie and I hope you all don't mind me barging in. I've decided to crack open a recent gift from match1112. This beer isn't "new" at all, it's actually quite old... am I already doing this wrong?

North Coast Cru D'or Organic Belgian Syle Ale (Dubbel) - vintage unknown. Matt told me that it has a few years on it though. Pretty good stuff, but I fear it's only downhill from here.

Thanks Matt! And cheers to all you BA's!

As long as it's new to you it's all good. Love the tulip. My only feedback for you is TELL us about it! =-) Your thoughts? Good, bad? Would you get try it again? How about a description so we can imagine how cool it would be to have that Duvel tulip on our kitchen table? Welcome and thanks for sharing!

Kind of a bummer b/c I like Loose Cannon so I had high hopes for this one. Kind of a schizophrenic beer. Looks like a dirty dubbel, tastes like a triple, but categorized as a Belgian IPA. Who knows???

Still, pretty good but not all I hoped it would be.

    Happy NBS!!!

Just bottled my first batch of beer today so I am currently enjoying another first. Pretty Things Our Finest Regards Barleywine. First time I've had one of their brews and I am impressed. One of the easiest drinking barley wines I've tried. A very nice balance of flavors. [IMG]

Does that mean that I should hurry up and drink the rest or just pour them out?

Greetings fellow NBSers! It seems some of you have a bit of trouble following the few simple rules of NBS. Let me try to help. Save the masturbation for other threads, and tell us something about the NEW beer you've tried today. Imagine we're all just sitting around BSing, would you look at us and say" I had this beer, it was good"? I suspect y'all would have a bit more to say, so say it here.

I worked my part-time job as a stagehand at the local theater last night and got to hear about an hour of great music from Lyell Lovett, so that was pretty cool. It's a cloudy, but warm day here in the Fourth Corner and I managed to get out for bit of a walk earlier today, climbed the Stairs of Doom 11 times this week and rewarded myself with this tasty Wit: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/16057/79409 . A nice brew that would be a great choice for a day of floating the Nooksack (or what ever your local is) River. Craft beer in cans rules!

    That sounds awesome!

As for me and this New Beer Sunday, I dug into the fridge for something unfamiliar and pulled out this beauty:

I've had dough proofing since last night for pizzas later today with my wife, dad, and grandfather. Have this song and album spinning on the platter, which is one of my favorites:

    Review below:

    Poured into a Bruery snifter.

A - a body as dark as a black hole with a half an inch of espresso-colored foamy head on top.

S - the smell is amazing! Sweet bourbon and honey are pouring out of my glass, as well as hints of chocolate, coffee and oak.

T - everything the nose predicted - bourbon dominates, followed by chocolate, coffee, vanilla and some honey sweetness. The oak and some bitterness close it out as it flows down the throat.

M - ultra creamy with the perfect amount of carbonation.

O - this is an excellent representation of the style and one I've been wanting to try for a while now. Great bourbon, coffee and vanilla notes put this is the upper tier as far as I'm concerned. 4.6/5

I hope everyone has a nice Sunday and a safe, productive week filled with good brews. Cheers!
