Let me know if you want a can or two. I work downtown and should be able to swing by for a max 4 can allotment of which I can definitely spare a can or two. If you want a full allotment, I can take a youngster from the office and make them get an allotment for me.

Just so everyone knows, I've been refreshing the weather (I've got accuweather.com up on my work computer) for the last day or two, and the temp has actually risen a couple degrees since I started. I'm going to continue refreshing until Saturday, and expect the temps to continue to rise, as I've clearly been given some power to affect the weather.

    Everyone is welcome in advance.

We are all counting on you to continue to make the temperature increase.
Do something about the rain, while you're at it...

I think a neckbeard might be more effective.

I'm actually curious, is there anything stopping them from putting up some sort of building to have at least parts of the fest under? I understand the idea of keeping everything outdoors, but it's always in April, and April in the Midwest can...suck (as evidenced by last year's DLD, and potentially this one, if my refreshing skills don't save us all).

I get the logistics of putting everyone under said event roof might be too much, but I'm wondering if it has been a thought.

There's no way in a million years the event company that runs DLD doesn't say "guys....we can do this at the United Center or some other huge venue" but 3 Floyds pushes back and says "yeah but that would kill the point of the event". This year is my first DLD so I have no opinion either way yet but I imagine every year they think about or suggest having it at a venue.

Oh no, sorry if I wasn't clear, I meant putting up some sort of structure at the original grounds; something still open, but with a roof. I definitely don't advocate a change of venue (although obviously I'd prefer it be closer to me!), but a tent or 12 could come in handy.

That seems like a lot of work when you can just tell attendees "hey rain or shine bring a poncho".

From what I hear, they have some pretty beefy massive steel-framed tents going up right now.

Folks, it's the Midwest (err Great Lakes), we should all be used to doing outside events in all sorts of weather. Dress appropriately and carry on. For those from more warmer climes, well, at least you don't have to live here year round:wink:

I don't think there is anything that says group A can't go through the south gate?

This weekend has always been a shit-show in my life. Drake Relays in Des Moines, same weekend annually, has always been a rainy damned event. The almanac doesn't have to try to hard to predict this weekend. I'm pumped, regardless; at this point, I'm just hoping it's not too cold.

That's where I'm at. If it's better than last year, temp-wise, then I'll be happy. Happier the better the weather, but probably happy either way.

Last year wasn't too bad once the gates opened. It was chilly, but during the day it was fine. Once the sun went down, it was brutal thoug .

It's going to be really cold, really wet and miserable weather-wise. Expect lots of wind too...all day. Be glad there's lots of beer flowing. Those large tents? With this weather will be absolutely packed!

Big change in direction but since there are no packaged sales, what do you think the retail stores in the area will be like as far as ditro from the pub this week? It said on the DL page "However, we are working on arrangements to be sure that people are able to purchase Three Floyds packaged beer varieties by visiting other area merchants on the days surrounding Dark Lord Day. ".....as an out of town'r not knowing the local retail that well, but wanting to pick up some extra beer if possible. What are some good stores in the area?

I think A's would have the option to north or south? A's only allowed at the north gate, no other groups.
