Not being able to find fresh SN Torpedo and Pale Ale in east PA. 8 months old is pretty typical. What's wrong with the distribution of this beer?

I actually hate the phrase "craft beer". People who use it seem to be looking for some sort of social status or ego boost. Maybe even justification that spent more money on a certain product.

It never fails, that when I see the words "craft beer" advertised somewhere (Price Chopper Supermarket in PA), or on an actual bottle (Sam Adams Rebel IPA), that in both instances, good beer is nowhere to be found.

I also dislike paying $2.50 a 16 ounce draft of Carton Boat Beer NJ, and then driving 60 miles east to Manhattan and having to pay $8.00 for the exact same product.

Are you implying that "50 somethings" (or older) can't possibly know a lot about and appreciate "craft" beer?
That's a laugh. Some of them are probably more "craft" beer savvy than guys 20-25 years younger.
They would possibly have been in their early twenties at the dawn of the "craft" beer movement, reveling in it, and trying to preach the gospel of that movement to their 50 something father who was turning his nose up at anything that wasn't Strohs.
    LOL.
    Too funny.

It's embarrassing with all the looking down at others who might not know as much as you do that's going on in this thread. Is this what we have devolved into? When I was just getting into craft beer the community was so much less elitist. Kind of makes me want to move onto new frontiers.

a variation on "no bottled on" date: including a "best before" date, only. seing a "best before" date 6 months into the future on an IPA is frustrating. you need to look up how breweries determine their "best before" date.. eff that. let ME decide what is best before when.

It was mentioned a few pages, but yes "Belgium beers" it's as grating to me as "I seen it" (which is apparently taught as proper grammar in south milwaukee)

What's all the hate for kids? I don't have any but if they are behaving I don't see why kids can't be in a liquor store.

I've always read that the contract between (then) Interbrew and Coors to brew Bass Ale for the UK market ended a few years after UK regulators made Interbrew sell off the Bass brewery and several of their brands (notably Carling) in 2001. For instance, this UK news story announcing the Marston contract:
Last I read, the bottled Bass in the UK is brewed at an ABInBev brewery in Salmesbury and the Draught Bass at Marston's in Burton.

The fact that I didnt know IPA's expire and not knowing how many IPA's i've consumed that were over three months old. Oh and that I can't get so many beers due to limited distribution. I mean could New Glarus or CCB for instance not ship out of their state by now?

Wow! Thanks for that inside information. I had no idea. It's posts like this that keep me coming back to this site. It's just a shame this is information is buried in a generic whining thread of beer pet peeves. :slight_frown:

It'll actually have English aroma hops again, so it should be a big step in the right direction, at least.

This actually happened to me once when I ordered a BCBS and got some kind of golden colored beer. Pretty extreme case. Ha ha.

    "I don't like dark beer"
I hate that statement. It's ignorant. Don't judge a beer by its color.

Also, beer bashing. It's okay to stay you don't like something but to expect everyone to share your opinion sucks. Some people spend more time bashing beers and breweries they don't like then celebrating the ones they do. It's very off putting. there are so many options out there. Explore the ones you like, leave the the others alone, thats it.

BA's who think any beer that's not Bourbon County automatically sucks if it has the fingerprints of BMC or some large international company on it.
