Yes indeed,Rob Larson and Luther Paul collaborated on this one,we got to try it at the Beer Capital Summit Thursday, dry hopping includes citra and Amarillo, lots of grapefruit in aroma, one lip smacking jowl juicing citrusy taste. 9.5% no bottles, just kegs, will be in Milwaukee,Racine and Madison, and maybe some outer fringe accounts. Look for announcements and shipping starting tomorrow. You'll grin broadly when you taste it. No,Im not associated with either brewery, just someone lucky to get one of the first tastes and I want everyone to know

This is an excellent beer. I really like the big IPA's and try all the Wisconsin ones as soon as I can get them and usually they are all hype with little hop (I just made that up now). This beer is one to go out of your way for. I, like Grynder, am also not associated with either brewery.

I heard it's on tap at the brewery. Friend said it as excellent.

They must have done something seriously right here, if @blackhusky is giving it the nod. Right up to the top of my must try list, this one goes.

Wow this beer is killer. Aptly named as there's tons of grapefruit, but not in an overpowering, single note way. Great balance, which isn't that common in 9%+ abv DIPA's. If you see this on tap do yourself a favor and try it. I'm getting a growler fill before I leave.

Really good beer, Grapefruit isn't overpowering like in Grapefruit Sculpin, really well balanced. Also I didn't realize how high the alcohol was in it until I saw this thread.. Remembered it being very drinkable and not much booze/alcohol taste to it.

Beer capitol hasn't received any of the kegs yet. I'm guessing by the end of the week you'll see places with it.

9.5% TRIPLE IPA? I think not...

Guess this is what happens when one ages... You find yourself scrolling (and responding to) beer blogs, forums, Twitter and Facebook long before 5 am...

Beer Capitol has indeed received kegs. And there is a growing list of accounts that have signed on to get a vessel of this elixir. However, on the heels of Milwaukee Beer Week (when so many craft locations take on extra/special kegs for tap takeovers and what-have-you), I reckon there will be a staggered release of availability as draft lines become available.

The bad part is that you may have to have a bit of patience, if you don't want to drive to the brewery. The good part is that, especially due to the limited batch size, a staggered tapping at these fine establishments should allow the beer to be available a bit longer!

As for the style as a "Triple IPA", I couldn't find definitive parameters... As far as I could tell, the style is yet to be officially defined. Even BA simply categories "triple IPAs" as imperials. True, most touting the style have an ABV of more than 10%. But the sheer amount of hops used in this beer, the above-average ABV and the fact that it was dry-hopped with three varieties of hops (Galaxy, Citra and Amarillo) lent us confidence in utilizing this style descriptor.

Hope you all enjoy the beer! Has been great to work with our friends (and I mean that term literally) at Lakefront on this new endeavor. Couldn't have asked for better partners! What a great industry we have the pleasure of being a part of.

The "double, triple. etc" lingo has more to do with the IBUs than ABV.

I don't care what it's called as long as it tastes good, and this beer tastes amazing.

If anyone sees this in Madison in the next day or two, please report in! We're headed down for Great Taste tickets & are long-time Tyranena fans, I'd love to try this one.

Good thing there's 0 Homer's in this thread... I'm sure it's a great beer, all I commented on was that 9.5% shouldn't be called a triple IPA. How many IBU's does this beer have anyway? If it's well balanced I'm guessing not much more than 90? Naming it a triple IPA just seems gimmicky to me. (Stirs the pot)

Had this at the Crafty Cow in Oconomowoc tonight. Wow! What an excellent beer. I sure hope to see more collabs in this future if this is what they turn out like.
