Yes I always try to buy it cold.... But circumstances being what they are,I just got home with some room temperature Pale ale What is the quickest way to get it cold ? A bucket of ice ? the freezer ? Put it next to the ex wife's heart ?

(I searched these forums and couldn't come up with any past discussions about this) How do you get a warm beer cold fast ? Thanks !

step 1- wrap it in a wet towel
    step 2- put in freezer
    step 3- wait 20-30 minuets
step 4- remember to take it out and drink it

I got one in the freezer wrapped in a wet towel and about to try the ice cube thing with salt this time. The towel and the salt are some interesting twists that I hadn't heard of before. Thanks !

The wet towel doesn't do much in my experience. You can just stick it in the freezer without the towel and it will still be cold in 20-30 minutes. Burying it under some bags of frozen food does seem to help though.

I use wet paper towels- freeze faster than towels, it seems. 15 min you are good to go.

Liquid nitrogen. Quickly rotate beer around in the liquid for roughly 10-15 seconds and you have yourself a nice, cold brew! (this really isn't sarcasm)

Wet paper towels every time. But you cannot forgot to pull out.

    Liquid nitrogen guy, I like the way you think, but.....a more practical solution is as follows;

    1. Put the beer cans in the bottom of your dorm room trash can.
    2. Dump a bag of ice over it.
    3. Pour water over it.
    4. Wait about 15 minutes.
    5. ENJOY!

Just the freezer, nix the wet towels. Set the timer on the microwave for 20 minutes.

^^^Use the wet paper towel rather than the much thicker towel. Gets good and cold in no time.

Acquire the taste for room temperature beer and eliminate the problem altogether.
30 minutes in the freezer, and not forgetting, if you must have a cold one.

Picked up easily at the local corner store too! Absolute zero is a beautiful thing when you can get it! (And no disrespect intended.)

The Mythbusters have a really cool show about this very question! I believe their favorite way was put them in a styrofoam cooler, grab your fire extinguisher, and spray the entire contents of the cooler. Doesn't take long after that....

First time I saw this. I was at Marianos which is a newer upscale grocery store by me. And you could put you beer in this like barrel thing and there is a heat exchanger that will chill your beer in a couple minutes. I was in awe.
