My thoughts exactly. I'm leaning towards sitting this one out and focusing my efforts on 12 Days of Christmas.

Judging by the history of these fine fiolks, you could set a max of 50oz and a few people probably would end up with a 450oz bomb but I see your point!

This is what I was thinking, once I'm clear of the LIF/war boxes I have in front of me the 12 Days targets will be going out, but if I know I really only need to come up with a 6-shipper for this round I can add that in without a problem.

I agree with @MCMASTERSANCHEZ, I'd love to be in on the anniversary round having been in this since post #3, especially since I've skipped a couple rounds in a row, but I just can't let myself get in too deep (as if I wasn't well past that point already).

It might be a pain for @ninjembro , but we could let him know whether we fall into the "definitely will adhere to the 150 oz max" or the "might accidentally go all @whyteboy003 on the max" and he could essentially run two concurrent BIFs.

I wouldn't be opposed to the challenge, but I'm not going to ask that people are required to put down their "preference". If I get enough people in each boat to make it worthwhile I could potentially do something like that, though if I only get like 4 or 5 people that say "whyteboy box" and similarly for sixer I'll probably just match up however

    Awesome idea, I love it.

    Do you like porches?
    [ ] Yes, I'll stick to 150oz.
[ ] No, I'm going to destroy one.

Cody, I'm happy to help out with target assignment if you'd like, just let me know.

I still think there needs to be a 3rd whyteboy check box. There's a clear difference in upping the limit to destroy a porch vs whyteboying someone.

I will help out in any possible too (although I think Cody has the directory file that includes all the BIF history and identifies state borders). Remember these mini rounds started as literally 6 beers; I think almost everybody adhered to that for the summer sixer (I think 2 or 3 people might have sent 7 or 8, I recall somebody stacking 2 cans on top of each other and counting them as 1), I don't think anyone went over about 120 oz. Then somebody pointed out (correctly) that there's a big difference between sending 72 oz and sending 6 bombers, I believe the 150 oz limit that started with the winter sixer was intended to represent a "big 6-pack" (4 bombers or 750's).

I also think that a lot of us are going to do the 12-days BIF, that probably includes most of the inclined-to-send-ridiculously-large-box contingent; a lot of folks who have been in from day 1 seem more interested in keeping it small (as do I). So I think the way to go is say this is nominally a send-a-sixpack round, but more accurately has a 150 pound max (and hope most people stick fairly close to that).

The bottom line is this -- if you happen to send the "allowed amount" to somebody who decides to send triple the requirement, or if you happen to be the recipient of three times what you sent, don't worry about it.

One other minor variation on this IF Cody thinks he can handle it would be to basically have some people who are interested in something larger get treated as two separate participants; they would each receive and send two different boxes; but keep each one below the maximum oz limit.

BTW, that last option I just mentioned is an offshoot of something that @UTvols05 and I had discussed a while back; the basic concept was to run two simultanous overlapping BIF's where everyone had a pair of senders and a pair of targets.

I have a hunch this was a 'typo' and you meant 150oz, but I do hope that "most people" stick to 150lb .

This is what you get for posting before fully catching up

Correct on the pounds vs. ounces!!

But no, I had caught up -- my suggestion was a slight variation on Dan's -- Dan's idea (I believe) is two separate BIF's with different participant groups (the big senders and the normal size senders). My idea is just one BIF but some people get to double dip (which may or may not be clear). I actually think the second option might be easier for the administrator.

You guys sure do like to complicate things

...We could just, ya know, do another, simple BIF round like we always do and let people send what they want... seems to have worked so far

Has Bud Light taken the word "no" out of your vocabularies?

If you have doubts about joining a round, just don't.

The idea behind this (in my mind at least) was to create a collaborative BIF. Each person gets 2 targets and 2 senders.

You team up with the other sender to crush your common target. So say Mike and I both get Nick; we BM back and forth and launch a coordinated attack to really f*** him, his wants list, and his porch up good.

A lot of us do this already, but this would promote the teamwork and collaborative spirit. It's just a thought Mike and I both had and bounced around in BMs. I'm probably going to have to sit out regardless with the 12 DoS starting around the same time.

This is quite interesting, a very cool twist regardless of any concerns about box size or what have you.

I was thinking there'd just be two lists, "wants a small round" and "wants a big round" and as much as possible, pairings would be made from within each list. Other than a little more work for the organizer the rest of the round would run exactly the same as without this.

Yes, it is a little more complicated, but I think there's enough of us doing 12 Days or for another reason don't want to get wrapped up in porch decimation that it's worth the extra effort (particularly since I volunteered myself to put out said effort).

Unrelated to the upcoming rounds--I mentioned earlier having Cycle Thursday / Friday, and it was suggested I start here. Both were outstanding, looking to share w/ someone who didn't make it down for BA week.

I'm considering trying to trade Thursday for a big sour/wild/lambic/etc. Was considering something along the lines of a DDG or similar, but hey, let's keep things in the family if possible. Whatever I get, I'm planning to bring to a locals gathering of some sort.

No clue on Friday...the optimist in me was hoping I could swindle someone on the ISO/FT boards into sending me a LP or Fou for it, but eh, whatever.

If you've been looking for one of these and wanna save me the 2-hour shower that's required after wading into the trade forums, lemee know. Bonus points if you promise to bring one or both of them to blow up the next Northern share. TSSRA

Mine would punch you to hear you say that, she's a major craft beer nerd! Seriously though, GABF can be spendy or it can not be. The festivals can be expensive (especially since GABF is the cheapest one), some of the events (like Avery's midnight breakfast) are too. Or it can be more laid back for you. The Texas beerliner is free beer all week. They aren't open all the time, but they are a lot. I'm definitely in for a share. We'll have to find a time to do it, but I'm sure we can manage.

@Littlelotte88 i need your advice! Should I drink a few of the 12/16oz IPA cans I've got in my fridge or the 64oz of Ghandi Bot you so nicely traded (it will become a trade!) me?
