Can't stand John Oliver. But that was good.

John Oliver is definitely one of the funniest people around these days...I think that video proved it as even people who don't really like him thought it was good...as for the slogan, I really wonder what the the corporate approval process was really like...I mean, anyone knows that couldn't fly...proves how out of touch they are with EVERYTHING...

I wish the "commercial" at the end was the entire skit and replaced the first 2 mins of John Oliver talking.

"Bud light tastes like the scared urine of a rabbit."

 

Agree about the label...but I still think the Super Bowl ad was pretty damned funny, quite effective, and in many ways, "spot-on" (at my favorite 'craft' beer local, I've frequently encountered beer nerds much worse than the ones portrayed in the ad).
Not trying to hijack the thread, but just want to point out that the Super Bpwl ad was, after all, primarily aimed at their established (but clearly dwindling) customer base who are already Bud drinkers. But AB-InBev knows full well that some of those loyal Bud-ites will soon discover that they were born with taste buds and jump ship, eventually leaving the Bud hype behind (and buying into a whole different world of hype).

 

John Oliver is KILLING IT right now. Last Week Tonight absolutely slays me on the reg.

I cannot understand why some folks around here do not like John Oliver's brand of humor. This piece was great, as most of his are. Great writers for sure, but a great presence and delivery. Is it politics infecting some viewers with the inability to laugh at our culture?

 

How much does comedy central kick themselves for letting him go? He should be taking over the Daily Show. Yeah, he left a while ago but they could have promised him a show when Stewart or Colbert left. Sorry, a little off topic but Oliver is on point as always.

 

I dearly love John Stewart and thought the show was even better with John Oliver in the big seat.

I thought that at no point was this video funny. I found it annoying and stopped halfway through.

Just more sensationalism meant to shove words into peoples mouths. More people taking shit out of context because they think it's all about them.

And dammit, bud light isn't disgusting or peasant-worthy swill; it actually tastes pretty nice (as long as it's very cold).

 

Nah, it sucks...(but yes, the descriptions of Bud Light were over the top. Some funny, others not so much)
