range for Hommage in the US was roughly $40 - $65, I imagine Framboos is similar

Ohio was in the low 40s, priced like hommage. Several places got three single bottles (a half case). I know a ton of people that tried in Dayton and Cincinnati, and only one person scored a bottle.

Judging by the number of FT: Framboos I have seen from Midwest traders, it seems to have been distro'd quite a bit in that region. I haven't seen a 3F or Cantillon bottle on a shelf in Chicago ever. Seen pics of a couple at Beer Temple and WLV liquors, and you know they are gone in 20 minutes, but seriously, we need more Shelton Bros distro up here bad.

I know Shelton Bros are all over the place, but it seems there is no real rhyme or reason to where and how these are released. That'll all I'm able to take away from this.

What I'm seeing is that many people are looking to move their Framboos 14's for some unknown reason. It's a buyer's market right now.

I know right? I understand the whole new money thing now I think. This is finally available in America so you might as well flip it for the imperial stout of the week.

I found mine on the shelf and my eyes became three sizes too large and I even left the last one for the next guy because why be greedy. Why you wouldn't want to drink this is beyond a certain level I can comprehend but I have noticed a large mount of Missouri folk trying to trade it. I'm not sure if they received a lot of what but it's not just on this site.

I've noticed this too, people in the US know it trades high so they just snatch it up and flip it quick for styles they like more than lambics. Stock up now because in 18 months those same people will be trying to trade for them back. I can't believe some of the trades I've seen get done for 2014 framboos, people are have been pretty much giving it away.

That's interesting, because while I have quite literally never seen a single 3F or Cantillon bottle here in NC, I've seen several in Chicago...got a 3F Intense Red at Binny's in Hyde Park earlier this year , and a friend just passed on a Cantillon at WLV last Monday.

Intense Red and Golden Blend are the only 2 that really stuck around a while. Up until about 2 years ago, you could catch 3F Oude Gueze, kriek, and even Schaerbeekse Kriek, pretty regularly. Small amounts of cantillon would occasionally actually hit the shelf, but was gone within an hour. Distro stopped for a while, and just came back. At this point you need to know its coming and know someone to get any.....unless your really lucky

I'm pretty surprised by the misinformation about this beer. Newer traders have been posting Framboos is around and people are trading multiples of the Framboos in an attempt to decrease its value for their own gain.

I wish them the best of luck.

Fact is the beer has been produced an undetermined number of times. First bottles were reported around 1990. Between 1990 and 1999 there isn't enough evidence to support any release information. Bottles that have been confirmed since are 1999, 2011, and 2014. It has been confirmed that the 2014 batch is only 3000 bottles. 1000 bottles were sold in Belgium. The 800 sold at the brewery sold out same day. And the rest went into distribution. To several countries. It was estimated that MAYBE 300-400 were sent to the US for distro. All of this came out of the release Benelux thread on this site.

Traders that get it and add multiple bottles to trade for stuff appear as though they have no idea what they have. Or don't like lambic and want to flip it for something they think they can get. That's fine.

A couple months from now the only people with bottles worth trading will be international trades. I've taken an interest as this is a personal whale of mine.

If it's so easy to obtain I suggest those who think it's so easy to obtain should stroll into their local beer store and pick some up. And some Hommage while they are at it.

I've noticed this as well. I don't think Colorado got a bottle that I am aware of. How did MO end up with so much to trade?

Was Framboos a collaboration between 3F and Side Project this year, with SP's being Framboise du Fermier?

Adding to this, i've had a number of conversations with Armand and Michael about this beer.

Apparently, Gaston experimented with raspberries in the past, but never liked how they killed the head retention on his beer. There are probably some of these older experimental bottles around, but who knows? It's part of the art as opposed to science part of lambic. He's discussed w/JVR since Rose has better (albeit not great) retention, but neither has a great answer.

It's also one reason why Hommage has 5% cherries....kriek (especially with Schaerbeekse cherries) keeps it's thick foamy head.

Thanks for your perspective. I hope it helps the community understand the Framboos that is out there today. It has certainly helped me. And enhanced it more for sure.

If someone is lucky enough to have a bottle I hope they appreciate the history in their hands.

    Cheers!

Buyer's market in that they can be traded for yes, but the few people I've been in contact with about acquiring one seemed to want a lot (yes I know it can and should trade well but what I encountered was excessive)

Definitely stunned seeing all the FT posts trying to flip it for stouts. However, I also understand that not everything likes lambic and some of the newer traders see this as an opportunity to get some wants. No issues with that. Anybody want some Vanilla Rye + and got a 'Boos? Holla atcha boy.
