I'll be traveling to Manchester from NYS today and I know they don't carry Heady there. What I'm wondering is the closest place to Manchester where I can land some.
Do your research, alchemistbeer.com. Or look through this forum for the 1000 other posts exactly like this, sorry but the fact that no one even bothers to look beyond the cover page in this forum is becoming troubling.
You would have to drive the two hours to Montpelier. If you can't drive on, The Beverage Depot has a very good selection- you might luck out and get some things not sold near you. Meulmanns out on Rt 30 is worth the stop as well, but check to see if they are open first (mud season hours). For some unknown reason Manchester is a craft beer wasteland. This amazes me because the town actually has a fairly vibrant economy and a lot of 20 and 30 year olds with money looking for some good beer. How are you getting there?
Driving in on route 7 from Albany. Thanks for the replies, sorry if I offended anyone with this post.
Nice...i know where I'm going for lunch (@duchessedubourg)(@Gsulliv2) Long haul unfortunately to get your hands on Heady to-go...but I hear reports that a local restaurant Chanticleer has it...but just don't expect to walk out of there with a typical burger & beer bill. Discount Bev is definitely the place in town to score some decent beers despite a gap in distribution to this part of the state from the more exclusive VT breweries. But you often can find some Grassroots Brewing (Hill Farmstead Brewery) and a good assortment of Oregon, Cali & Co breweries. Long Trail's Limbo sometimes gets overlooked, but in a blind tasting of the elite DIPAs VT has to offer, it stood strong. Otter Creek's new Backburner IPA is my new go-to when I want an IPA. 14th Star Tribute is another solid DIPA from a VT Brewery that in that tasting also finished solidly in the second tier with Limbo.
The beer store in Troy off 787 is excellent and has stuff you don't get in VT. You will pass the Man Of Kent Tavern in Hoosick NY, a top 10 beer bar IMO, stop in. You didn't offend anyone- helping each other out (the skinny) is one of the great things about BA.
I was lucky enough to score one of the Backacre from Manchester Beverage (they had none left on the shelf, but gave me one from behind the counter) and also made some great finds at Hoosick St Beverage in Troy, NY. Thanks everyone for the tips. Cheers!
Thats whats great about BA! Glad you grabbed a bottle, those are pretty hard to find in my experiences
