    Hi PNWers,

I am coming back to Portland for another bachelor party (been over 2 years now) and was wondering if deGarde is typically on tap or available to purchase in bottle form at any pub/restaurants. I am familiar with the visiting PDX thread and know a basic outline of spots I like to hit but I have yet to try anything from dG so they are my main focus this trip (sadly no vehicle makes a road trip tough). Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

As far as bottles go, Bu Weiss and Petite Desay are pretty widely available, including at many grocery stores. Both are cheap as hell, too. You might be able to find Tableau Rouge as well. I'll also mention that I find regular old Bu to be one of the best beers they produce; much better than any of the fruited variants and on par with most of the other limited stuff they release. I know many people disagree, though, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

This is starting to remind me of Cantillon questions in the Canada forum.

I am not looking for your secret spot to wipe out their bottle supply and bring home, I'm looking for a place to sample what is available. Loosen the death grip

when are you going to be here? This is happening 2 weeks from today....

beginning May 20th the Tin Bucket is kicking off 4 days of events including rare kegs that have been saved up and a new collaboration beer blend made with De Garde Brewing. The beer is called “The Broken Down Truck,” blended from 3 different barrels from De Garde’s Lambic inspired program, and will only be available in bottles starting Friday, May 22nd.

I think you misunderstand ... pretty sure he just meant we get a lot of that question. This is the NW, our scene is pretty death grip proof.

Fair enough, I'll admit I react negatively when people decide to comment with little to no context or topical aid. The LA/OC/SD scene is heavily skewed by a growing number of me-me-me "advocates" but calling people out trends to keep people in line. The majority of people who participate here are good folk.

Exactly. I feel bad that Canada is swamped with Americans wanting Loons but not the good local beer up North. Lots of de Garde questions lately and it kind of reminds me of that.

    Just an interesting observation.

you should roll over to the canada forum. it's like clockwork people asking where they can find their cantillon, and our nice friends from the north answering the same question over and over again.

you might want to try an IP trade if you're looking for some of the brewery only releases. otherwise, i'm a huge fan of petit desay. i look forward to the day it starts showing up on shelves in seattle...

Just in town for that weekend looking at pub stops for places that might work. I'm sure the brewery only releases are great but I've yet to try anything so I'm just looking for where the regular stuff might be on.

I get it though, no different than people asking where to find huna on tap. Not an option, however my question was closer to where is CCB on tap in general if that makes sense.

Somebody will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think dG is rarely ever on tap outside the tasting room or special events (though if you're here during PDX Beer Week...), so you should focus your search on bottles. The good news is Bu Weisse, Petit Desay, and Tableau Rouge bottles are first-rate dG beers available at an unmatched price.

Yup, they are very rarely on tap. Bu and Petit Desay are certainly a good place to start. Also, if you have time during your visit, and some good bottles you'd like to bring and share, I think you'd have good luck meeting up with some locals who would open up some of the brewery-only bottles to share.

Not sure if this is atypical or not, but right now, 16 tons (here in Eugene) has the dG Petit Azacca on tap. Only mention this because what Kevin stated has been my experience as well (don't see dG stuff on tap all that often). That being said, if I'm seeing it on tap down here, then there may well be places up in PDX that have it on tap as well (and so possibly available during the OP's upcoming trip).

If southwest had a direct flight this would probably be the best option. Sadly I'm stuck on Alaskan so the cost of trekking bottles is sorta wasted. Should someone want to work out a big trade (to make a bag worth it) I wouldn't mind packing a big hs Bruery bag

Arch Bridge Taphouse in Oregon City has Tableau Rouge on tap right now and a couple bottles available in the cooler for on-site consumption or take home.

You could always go and vist their place in tillamook. I mean that would be the best option really.
