CANBIF Spring 2015 - Hints and Hauls

My box is shipping to the province of British Columbia, or Alberta, or Saskatchewan, or Manitoba Monday.

Given the local bent and our shared LCBO access may have focused more on quantity over exotic quality ;-)
Was sad not to track down anything on your (truly epic) wants list... As a note, would recommend opening Stratford's Black Swan growlerettes sooner rather than later - today may already be too late! They are well brewed but low carbonation and although they fill with a gas cover, don't seem to keep as long as Beyond the Pale... Cheers!

- Bruery Oude Tart, YESS only time I've had this was the yeast last drops after arriving late to a tasting. Thanks!
- 2014 Dissident. Whoa baby, come to poppa!
- Black Butte 26th, new tick! sounds absolutely delicious
- Driftwood Wit, fresh orange-peele goodness for the patio season!
- Bomb! as if the previous were not awesome enough already #spoiled
- Oude King Crow. New Brewery, new tick, sour dark ale aged in pinot... RIGHT up my alley.

When Canada Post rings your doorbell, and your in CANBIF, you know it's gotta be something good! Sure enough, Friday afternoon, a 16+kg box was presented to me by a friendly postal carrier. She handled this box like it was a mere giant Stay-Puffed Marshmallow Man. Quickly abandoning all the other duties I was about to attend to, I began the surgical like dissection of the box.

Still not knowing who sent to me, the first thing I notice upon opening the top of the box is a telltale piece of plain unmarked cardboard. Then the light came on! Hey, my sender is in the same industry as I am! Suddenly the earlier "hint" of Wednesday, being the busiest day of the week, clicked in. The "extra" items in the box, including some limited signed and numbered prints as well as some items that turned the geek-crank on my Star Wars universe of things, only confirmed to to be so.

Over the next 30 minutes, it was an extended Christmas present opening session, while being challenged by some multiple-sized bits of styrofoam "peanuts". In transit, these must have been exposed to some gamma-radiation as they had developed anti-gravity magnetic powers and quickly attached themselves to everything within a 10 foot radius; me, the cats, furniture, cardboard and anything made of plastic. Luckily, my Kryptonite vacuum outmatched it's continuing multiplying opponents. Did I get them all? Only time will tell... But, I digress...

The only one on the list I've had is Ten Fidy which my favourite from Oskar Blues. All others are first timers and first timers for the breweries as well. The porter is up first.

With that said all beers have been acquired and with any luck the box will go out Monday.

Final Hint: My target lives in either the capital of their province or the country, and the hometown team was eliminated in the first round of the Stanley cup finals.

 

It's Friday, I've instituted a new Beer in Chad's office on Friday afternoon.

 

Been some epic hauls.

 

Dropped off my 20 pound box earlier today so fingers crossed it arrives by the end of the week. Headed to a city that isn't the capital of it's province.

 

How many boxes are delivered as of now?

 

Item was processed in Mississauga today! Should make its way around the lake soon.

 

OK, my actual last hint: If your life gets a little "greener" in mid-June, then you'll have a 37 pound, 295 oz care package delivered to your doorstep tomorrow!

 

Guess that rules out BC - we are always green
