Hi all, I didn't see a "visiting NYC" thread, so here goes. I have friends visiting NYC starting Saturday. They're gonna grab me some beer I can't get out here, but I would like to not have them waste time chasing beer. What are some good, easy to find (available in bodegas, mini-marts, grocery stores, etc) bottles and cans to have them look for? Thanks much.

Sixpoint would be widely available I imagine.

Ask them to get some Singlecut bombers for sure. Not sure what is available now but I've seen it at Whole Foods plenty in the past.

    Their IPAs are great.

Other locals: Captain Lawrence stuff, Ithaca Brewing (I like their berliner weisse...think it's Cayuga Cruiser... should be out now), Grimm stuff.

Tons of other stuff from other parts such as Victory, Weyerbacher, Maine Beer, Thirsty Dog... You can go on and on. NYC gets everything.

Pretty much every bottle shop now carries Singlecut.

They can find Founders, Bells, Cigar City and Evil Twin in any WF, just to name a few.

@beertunes - would also say your friends should be on the lookout for Grimm bottles as well

I think they're staying with friends in Brooklyn. They'll definitely be getting into Manhattan, and I think they want to try to get around to as many of the different parts of the city that they can. Which is why I don't want to waste their time chasing beer. They'll be doing some touristy stuff (Empire State Bldg, Statue of Liberty, take a ride on the Staten Island ferry, etc), but they're trying to do stuff too. He's a musician and wants to catch a couple bands, they want to hit a comedy club, stuff like that.
