I recently grabbed a couple of 4packs of wormtown be hoppy and while drinking the beer i noticed they
had two different styles of cans.
Both 4packs were dated 4/9/15 the beer was great as usual but i thought it odd that it had different can art.
One had the old style can and the other had a large be hoppy logo on the front.
End of an old can run?

Yes, I think they are changing over to a new logo. Haven't seen the new cans yet, just saw the old style last cans that came around out here.

Yes they changed can logo. Seems like they did not wanna waste cans and just used up the old ones on the current 04/09/15 batch. Come to think of it they are the process of changing their whole line. Website has new designs.

I got a 4-pack 2 weeks ago and it didn't seem as good (medicinal bitter with very little hop attributes) as it used to taste . Maybe it's because I've been drinking mostly Tree House for the last 2 months?

I completely agree with this. I was really disappointed; first bad experience with this beer. I had it on draft a few nights later and it was fine. Maybe the new canning process has some kinks yet to be resolved.

I also thought Be Hoppy wasnt as good this batch. Just assumed my taste had changed. Wasn't terrible but nowhere near as good as I remembered.

I was referring to the can art, i'm aware all personal tastes are subjective.

Agreed taste changed for sure on 04/09/15 batch. I got 3 four packs. 1 from brewery that I traded. Hopefully that one was good or I will be sending apologies to my trade partner. The 2 I consumed were definitely variable. I bought each 4 pack at 2 different stores. Drank 6 of 8 so far and they ranged from close to what BH should be to just a boring run of the mill IPA. That being said I had it on tap as well this past weekend and it was better than cans but not knock my socks off. Best pours I have had since March opening is from brewery in growlers. It has to be a isolated batch and canning issue.

I Manage the Tap Room at Wormtown, so hopefully I can answer some of the concerns and questions.
@dumpman - Yes, we rebranded our cans and the old style can was something we just didn't want to waste. The new can is what you will see from us from here on out so if you do see and old can, just check the date to make sure that beer hasn't been sitting for too long. I can't imagine you will have that problem.

As far as those of you saying that the batch that we recently canned didn't taste as well. I really do appologize for that. Our brewery staff tastes every single batch of beer that is made before it goes out into the public. I am sorry to see that this many people feel this way and clearly I don't want that. I am not sure why our beer tastes that way to you, but either way I am sorry and hopefully you will still support our brand. We are canning again in just a couple weeks so give us another shot.

I though the last batch was great.

i love be hoppy on draft (at sacco's in davis square somerville), but i was disappointed in the cans. some beers just don't package well, i guess. i feel the same way about racer 5. love it on tap, but i've ceased drinking it packaged.

I had Be Hoppy at the brewery a few weeks ago and was a bit underwhelmed. It was the first time i'd had it in about 6-7 months or so, and it wasn't like I remembered it. Not that it was bad by any means, just not amazing like I had remembered it being.

Then I had it on draft last night and was totally blown away. Had a fantastic hop presence with a really strong aroma. Smelled and tasted like it was tremendously dry hopped.

If the batch I had last night is any indication of how Be Hoppy will be tasting from here on out, I'm on board.

I'm strongly guessing that the beer has stayed the same but peoples perceptions change.

Be Hoppy on draft is amazing. I'm extremely surprise with people not liking the latest batch. Wormtown is usually spot on with their batches. But the again, I haven't had the last batch.

There was plenty at T&V in Springfield this afternoon. This batch is drinking quite nicely.
